Games where you 'set traps'?
Just wondering if anyone knows of a few games where you, say, 'set up a fortress' or 'find a good spot' and literally set traps around for NPCs/Players to get caught in... For some reason I am craving this at the moment...(a while back it was 'sniping games' heh).

Thanks for any ideas!

Metal Gear Solid and Sniper Elite would be good options. They're both games about ambush warfare, laying traps and snares and confounding the enemy. From the two series, I'd go with Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain. It's a huge game with at least a hundred hours of content, modern graphics and great combat. And yet it's usually on sale for under $20.

Tower Defence would also suit, but I don't know of any good Tower Defence titles launched in the last five years.

Not played this one but it focuses heavily on setting traps to kill enemies.

An awesome and overlooked game. Basically Super Monkey Ball as a tower defence where both you and your opponent set traps to stop each others boulders.

Like Dungeon Keeper mixed with Dwarf Fortress. It's in early access but the dev is active and it's enjoyable in it's current state.

RTCW:ET. i was a master at laying traps, i knew exactly where and how to place them that not only evaded bioncs from picking them up but in areas that will kill the enemy instantly. i almost always hid them just behind entry points just inside the walled area, and something in between fallen brickwork on the floor. i never missed a trick. i never placed mines where i knew it would be a waste of effort.

if in the event the enemy is going to roll over a checkpoint, i usually used myself as a booby trap. sometimes five or six players would stand well within range, i died and they went with me.

half my kills in some matches were directly influenced by brainless players getting themselves killed.

on occasion i use mines as a nice distraction to ambush spawning players, especially at oasis with the old city wall. i then place arty strikes in the area. somtimes a enemy dead body would trigger a row of mines and kill others in addition to me ambushing them.

you just need to know what you are doing :P.

minecraft ?
i think the genre you're looking for is command and conquer
where you build, sometimes mine, and defend by laying traps and whatnot
