Depends on the force and speed, I guess.

Sometimes you can live.

"Snapping your neck immediately stops breathing but you are very much alive for some time. You lose consciousness within a minute or so due to lack of oxygen but if someone did CPR, you would remain alive and could be kept alive on a ventilator indefinitely. If you lose oxygen more than 4 minutes, the brain is damaged to the point that it cannot recover but other body organ can be revied even hours later. Eventually all body organ systems fail and that is officially when you are dead but it all depends on how you define death." This is what I found

Op do you think if you jump out an airplane over water and hit terminal velocity and do a belly flop think you would survive. lol

The spine is made up of 24 vertebrae which is responsible for giving commands to your body through the nervous system, if you snap the spine anywhere, all the vertebrae under the damage won't work anymore which means, if you snap someone's neck, nothing under their neck will work anymore.

Not all cases are the same though but if someone managed to completely snap your neck, you're dead.

Just so you're aware, a broken neck does not mean a snapped neck, a broken neck is a fracture.

Simply breaking your neck is not fatal. Other damage that may occur as a result of the initial injury is what kills in most cases.

Imagine how aweful it would be to snap your neck, and know you could be saved. But everyone says “nope, he is dead and we can’t do anything” and I’m your head your screaming “SAVE ME YOU ♥♥♥♥♥♥!”

You can break your neck and make a full recovery, as with this woman who was internally decapitated.

What matters is whether or not the spinal cord is severed.

Most actually survive but remain as vegables for the rest of their life due to the prolonged lack of oxygen to the brain. Hope that helps.
