Because you guys only know German "RTL II Dubs" who was almost always censored (Dialogues, Blood, Fanservice) and anything what you can imagine. Also RTL II had only shown the very popular Shounen these days (Naruto, Dragonball (Z/GT), Inu Yasha, One Piece) and some other popular stuff (almost only child shows) like Yu-Gi-Oh, Sailor Moon or Dinosaur King.

If you would try a "real" German Dub (if you are able to understand it) like Chuunibyou, Yosuga no Sora or whatever Fairy Tail you probably would change your opinion.

I heard that German Sailor Moon was better than the English Version. And I haven't watched it, but I do like the theme song. It is not like any other theme song, nor s it even like the Japanese tune either...

3 (Japanese with English subtitles). UNLESS it's Yu Yu Hakusho. That's the only anime where I actually prefer the english dub. Everyone's voice actor actually matches their character very well.

1 and 2, it depends on the show.
Especially when it's Japanese speaking Vikings or Briton knights.. Personally I'd rather watch a viking show like Vinland saga in German, their language would make sense then.

It also depends on voice actors themselves.

But the thing I have the most issues with, is not full translation. Let's take Bleach for example. Okay, I understand characters having their original names, no need to pull another 4kids tactic and change them so they could be more "western" but.... Special moves should have been translated. Most of the English voice actors can't say "R" properly, and when they announce some special power, it just sounds wrong to me.

I always watch English Dub so I don't have to look at the Subtitles all of the time. And honestly.... Funimation does a great job with dubbing. I like Black Lagoon better in English.

I completely understand that.. Dubs don't change proper nouns though, they always keep names in Japanese such as "Bankai" and "Zanpaktou" but in Death Note, they still call "Shinigami" Shinigami instead of translating it to "God Of Death" and still using another proper noun for his name which is "Ryuk" another example is Naruto saying "Shadow clone JUTSU" which means "technique"
