any people that do digital art?
i want to start with digital art.

i bought a galaxy note pro years ago but drawing on it felt very clunky. i just tried it again. and it actually went pretty decent..

until i pressed something with the palm of my hand and everything fanished...

what do other people use and reccomend? i see a lot of people use those 100$ wacom thingeys. are they worth it? any other suggestions?

i can just use a glove for my note pro 12.2 but the pen isn't very precise either. and i wonder when it's gonna break down cuz that thing old...

(and no, the drawings on my steam profile aren't things i'm proud of XD just trolls. i do draw mostly with fineliner now though. check ianartman on insta if you want to see what i do now.)

maybe on a last note, i'm left handed. i've seen divices with buttons on the left side. that's not gonna work.

Depends on the digital art.
You could ditch that and draw on a piece of paper > scan/take photo > bring it into the computer > editing software > colour and edit it

To make that thing really effective, you need skills and proper equipments
If the pen is bad quality and right handed, then you'll have a hard time doing stuff
But I think you could still draw on it by making sketches and redraw ontop of the sketches using mouse ( With the pen tool in photoshop because it's way easier and precise )

Considering using ArtRage software and asking around on their Art forums.

https://www.artrage.com/
https://forums.artrage.com/

So far, I've personally found them to be the most realistic and natural. Pretty much everything you can do on a real art canvas, you can do digitally in their software. It's so good, that quite a few art schools are using that to teach their students and it's ArtRage Lite version comes with some tablets (worth getting the Full, if a serious artist). It's much cheaper than other products, but gives a lot.

They should be able to help you out with your questions about art too. The most friendliest artist social network I've come across. They would know what's best to use and will help you out even if you don't use their software.

---

Navigate to and touch Apps.
Touch Settings.
Swipe to and touch About device.

Check it's version (P905VVRUBOH1 = Android version 5.1.1 / but P905VVRUANB1 would be Android version 4.4.2 and in need of updating, etc)

Under Settings.
Swipe to and touch System updates.
Touch Check for new system update.

Make sure it's running the latest at least.

I bought second hand Wacom Intuous tablet as my first, about 5 years ago. (I got free software with it! A few dont know all names since I dont use but one of them is Corel Paintshop pro x8 and even though it was second hand the seller gave me all software that went with it)
And still use it!
Dont buy new tablet as your first. Youll need alot of practice and you can damage and scratch its surface in training process. I have been creating digital art since 2011 at least and I still dont feel ready to buy some big fancy super duper new tablet, because i treat this as a side hobby. I will buy it as soon as I feel I can dedicate more and feel Ive improved.
And like you have said yourself, ''i want to start digital art''
Which means to me you havent even properly started.
Get yourself some pain tool SAI free trial, and start doodling. You may come up with inspiration as you go.

EDITED: The above post in regards to software version on your Galaxy Note Pro. Suggest checking that first.

I have a little experience with wacom (hate their website and support, utter rubbish, but the products are okay when working correctly).

Yes, you get ArtRage Lite free with Wacom Intous Tablets. I registered that and used it to get 30% discount coupon off upgrading it to full ArtRage 5.

For accuracy, the Apple pencil is pretty good too.

Also a side note you can create great digital art even without tablet by vectoring and software that can do lineart with point and click feature like paint too SAI.
So if youre discouraged just because of tablet or not, dont focus too much on it.
Drawing is alot fun with mouse as well, although it takes alot more time.
But even though I have tablet I draw with mouse sometimes because it looks cleaner.

well the thing that keeps me from drawing digitally now is that i miss a decent pen experience like i'm used too. my current tablet doesn't have pen only mode and too many buttons, and the glass is really slippery. that's why i'm interested in wacom like stuff.

One other thing to try is actually placing a piece of paper on top of your Tablet to draw upon with the stylist. Some tablets allow this and it gives you a more realistic feel without the slip. It really depends on the tablet to how it reacts, but worth a try.

I personally am only capable of pixel art but I might be able to find people that are more knowledgable and helpful on the subject.

I have a Wacom Intuos 4, large model, and it's fantastic. One of the nice things is that you can simply rotate the tablet and change its orientation properties to use it left-handed. Go into your pen's settings, select the Mapping tab, change Orientation to Express Keys Right. You can change the orientation to Top or Bottom, as well. The Express Keys are the shortcut buttons along the side.

IMO, the Intuos line is totally worth it. I went with a cheap tablet when I first started and regretted it within the first week of owning it. Fortunately, I managed to get my large Intuos 4 tablet from Amazon Warehouse for $250, which was a really great deal considering they cost about $500 at the time.

If you're looking to save some money and don't need a large tablet, then you can get the small Intuos, without bluetooth, for $80 directly from Wacom's website or from Amazon.

If you really want to drain your wallet, though, you can get a Wacom Cintiq monitor. Bascially, it's a monitor and tablet rolled into one. Very expensice, especially the 27" version. The 27" model, with touch, is on sale for $2,400 right now. Without touch, it's $1,900. Never used one, but they seem really cool.

thanks for the answer. i'm indeed considering to buy a smaller one. i'm waiting a few days to see if i'll change my mind and how the prices fluxuate.

the reviews for those wacom products though. haven't found a single negative one. almost unrealistic XD.
