Youtube is subscribing me to random channels

Hey

A few days ago I started to see videos in my sub box from creators who I didnt subscribe to. I have in the past, subscribed to them (willingly) but after about a year I unsubbed. And now they are appearing in my sub box, and I didnt subscribe to them. It shows up as I have subscribed, and it says I have subscribed, but I didnt willingly subscribe to them.

My theory: Youtube wants to fix their channels from dying so they are subbing us to random channels and hope that we are ok with that.

Personally, I dont really care TOO MUCH (I care a little) because I can unsubscribe from them, but this is starting to get annoying. Its happended twice already. Any advice to stop this from happening? Thanks.

literally subed me to 1081 channels so i had to delete my yt chaneel but i didnt thave any videos so i did not really care

This one was driving me crazy for a few days.
Youtube was subscribing me to random channels I have no interest in whatsoever.
I tried resetting my password, disconnected all devices from Google, removing all games, I tried antivirus software, removing add-ons from my browser... Nothing helped.

Then I found the following:
When you sign into GiftKeys with Google/Youtube, you are allowing them (or giving them permissions) to mess with your Youtube channel, including subscribing you to random channels.

To resolve the issue you need to do the following:
- On Youtube click Settings
- Then click on Connected Apps
- Then Authorized sites to your Brand Account
- You will find GiftKeys here, I suggest you remove it

Also go to your Google account ( https://myaccount.google.com/ )
- Click on Security Check Up
- Click on Third Party Access
- You will find an app called YTAbone
- Remove the app from here

There's a minor exploit in Youtube and YouNow, where hackers will gain access to weak secured accounts (normally via third party api access) and lowkey use them to sub and promote other selected channels. They will try remain undetected and won't do much else upon the account. So just be careful that your account hasn't been accessed to do that. On YouNow it's worst, as they will spend your bars upon other people.

Youtube and YouNow don't randomlly sub you channels, something else is probably doing it.

Theres no way that youtube subscribing you to random peoples, and all the youtubers don't uploading anything about it. i think it is a virus Dx

I also found this problem I recently got back onto my computer after a vacation and my computer found 4 viruses running on my pc and now i have like 400 different channels i'm subbed to that are mostly Chinese or fortnite

Did you go to GiftKeys and allowed them to manage your YouTube account?
Go to your security Checkup and remove GiftKeys and YTAbove as trusted apps

I have used gift keys and have removed the access right away. thank you for letting me know about that.

china, you're not crazy. Had the same thing happen to me two days ago. I saw some Spanish channel called "OnRi" in my subscriber feed. I don't even speak Spanish! I unsubbed immediately, only to find myself resubscribed again to it today.
