NS is not a place. It's National Service, or mandatory military service.
You could do your NS and be sitting at a desk, filing papers and you probably won't see very many or any snakes.
If you're in a wooded area, rivers, forest, jungle, leafy area, etc. then you might encounter wild snakes. They are typically nocturnal, shy and only attack people when they feel threatened.
You should worry about the beehives instead.
And field training always has physical risks. Holy crap son, suck it up and don't stick your hand in a snakes mouth.
I had nothing but bush and cotton mouths.
