How did you post dis
| GTA San Andreas is my favorite GTA. It doesn't have the best graphics but they're not really the worst either. It does have a good story, you can do more in San Andreas than most of the other GTAs also. You must haven't played it before, but i do respect your opinion. |
The only real problems SA had were the bad graphics and physics I suppose. Though physics didn't and still don't play a big deal in games compared to having an amazing story (which SA had), great gameplay (which SA had), TONS of content (again, which SA had).
Bad example aside, you should stay away from GTA 3, because THAT right there, is dated. The old Thief games also come to mind, especially because you need to do some heavy tweaking in order to get them to work at decent settings. You could also argue that the original Half Life is pretty dated, but I personally disagree. I find it superior to HL2 in every way, excluding the graphics and physics. Metal Gear Solid 1 and Splinter Cell 1 are also very clunky, but they're still great games once you get past the controls.
True, It just shows that they most likely haven't played the game. But yeah GTA 3 was horrible in my opinon, i couldn't get past the first few missions haha, and i didn't like the controls or the gun zoom etc. It seemed very limited, but that's just my personal opinion. A lot of people on here love the game.
Eh... GTA III was revolutionary upon launch, I remember as a kid being so impressed and blown away by the 3D graphics for the time, considering there was 2D and voxel and so on. It helped set a standard and helped get the whole 'open-world' and 3D thing going etc. With that said, I think it deserves a place in video-game history, being a pivotal moment.
But now a days as more and more games like San Andreas were released, it's just aged terribly.
I get the appeal of the characters but the dated visuals, lack content and lacking game-play is just a turn off for me. As well as the theme, to this day I still regard San Andreas the best... and IMO, III and Vice City, there's just no going back for me, nothing of worth there.
I actually played San Andreas twice when it came out. Compared to Vice City, San Andreas's map was big, empty, and boring. The customization was just sort of filler content for me. I think those two things were the big selling points. Wasn't saying the story aged badly. I mean I love Vice City and it is basically just rehashed Scarface...
Sorry, didn't mean this to turn into a debate on the GTA series.
That's my fault, i started it, my bad. But yeah you can check out "Worst Ps2/Pc/Xbox" games and there will be a lot of bad games you can be sure to avoid, but i'm sure no one is playing them lol.
Not looking for shi**y games (per se) just wondering if there's any games I should stay away from that have dated poorly from a tech perspective. I wanted to play System Shock 2, but the horrible graphics and animations seem a bit much to tolerate. The first two Thief games have the same problem, amazing gameplay but in a lot of long, featureless corridors with laughable animations.
