underrated games

im looking for some games to add to my wishlist that i might not have on there normallly. So i wanted to make a post about games that deserve a much better rating than what they got. RATING AS IN APPROVAL RATING ON STEAM!!!!! If anyone can recommend a game that got a much lower score than it deserves then put it here, along with a description why. Either metacritic score, or steam rating. Anything that you think was rated unfairly. I think we should also be discussing the experience of the game with no respect to the price. So if a game is really good, but more expensive than its worth, put it up here. No one pays full price for games on steam anyways lol.

i will add games to my OP that are below 70% approval rating and are given a good reason to why they deserve a better rating

here are some examples:

deus ex invisible war: the game is actually a lot of fun. I think it has a bad review because it was not as good as the first deus ex. But i havent played the pc version so it could be a bad port. But i played many hours of this game on xbox when i was younger without having played the first one, and i enjoyed it a lot.

the division: This game has a 66% rating on steam, but its actually pretty fun. Even if you leave the pvp alone, i think its worth the price tag. Its like a 3rd person version of destiny. Not perfect by any means, but i think it deserves an 80 or so. Probably has the low rating because of uplay

Falllout 4: mixed reviews on steam is kinda confusing to me. The combat is amazing, and the world is huge. Adding the main characters voice was a bad idea, and it changed how the game works a lot, but its only one aspect of the game. Almost everything else was improved, combat, levelling, graphics, world size, companions, crafting, more randomized loot. probably the most underrated game on steam. But i barely mod any games at all and i think that was the issue most people had.

earthlock festival of magic: currently sitting at 68% but i think it should be at mid 80's. final fantasy 15 is mid 80's, and they took out all tactics whatsoever, they even took out almost every skill in the game. When i last played FF15, the only options other than attack, or warp-attack were using items. earthlock was far better in terms of combat. This game should have a better review rating

dungeon siege 3: last time i played this was on console, but its at 58% right now, and it was a very fun game. for a game to be good enough for me to finish it says a lot about the game. And i thought the combat was challenging enough to keep me interested. You had to use all of your skills intelligently in order to win

you should try out Aarklash, not popular at all, and its a great example of what combat should feel like in a real time rpg

I agree, i havent gotten far, but its very deep. I think it went under the radar because of divinity original sin. It has a 64% for the recent reviews, i wonder why that would be. Definately deserves better

Most "underrated" games aren't really underrated. And I wouldn't call a game like Fallout 4 underrated just because it has some mixed reviews. It sold 12 million copies on launch day alone.

good games with bad reviews = not always underrated games

we must look at it from the news and media coverage too,not just from the reviews
there's no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ way people can really think Fallout 4 is underrated

A genuine competitor to Mario Kart. Fantastic graphics, some customisation, great courses, decent controls, and a difficulty curve that means at lowest difficulty level it's reasonably easy to do well but at the higher levels you really need to know your stuff.

The base game gets repetitive quite quickly and the base ending is a bit poo but the expansions (apart from the last one) boost the game a lot.

it is, but i would only buy it in a steam sale its quite exoensive for how short it is. the storyline is good tho

mixed means 50-70% approval rating on steam iirc, dont take the word mixed literallly in this case. Its a ranking system they give to the total positive reviews divided by all reviews. I am considering an underrated game that the ratio between positive and total reviews do not do it justice. In FO4's case, it has a 68%, which means that 68% of the people recommend it. FO4 deserves WAAAAAAAAY better, i think people started downvoting it becuase they did something to the modding scene. IDK much about it because i dont mod games, but that doesnt mean the game is bad, just that they did something to make a lot of people mad. FO4 is a perfect example of an underrated game by my standards listed above. I would say Deus ex invisible war, and FO4 are the most underrated games on steam that I know of. But looking for more

I think people are misunderstanding what i mean by underrated, there are some games listed with a 90%+ approval rating on steam. Im not sure how to explain any bettter, perhaps someone else can try to explain what i mean by underrated?
