Girlfriend Getting into Duo/Multiplayer Games Suggestions??
Hello!
So after years! my Girl has finally decided to try and game along side me on Duo/Multiplayer games. She is a beginner to the PC gaming world with only prior experience on Old-School Mario/Zelda games. However, she has taken a genuine liking to FPS games like "Overwatch" and wants to try more of the sort. I do not mind buying 2 copies of a game so we can game together on-line in respective computers.

I could use some advice on what ya'll have found to be good simple & fun games that we can get to ease a new female player further into the gaming world where we can play together. Most of my experience has been playing solo games (like Skyrim/Bioshock/etc.) as I have been used to usually being the sole gamer at home.

So please, for anyone out there who has gamer girlfriends (or girls themselves) what games have you found to be most enjoyable together. FPS or Adventure RPG would work too, the main purpose is to be able to spend gaming time together as I believe that's the main reason she wants to try gaming, but I want to help immerse her into the gamers world too!

Appreciate it guys & gals!

What is she interested in in real life?

First off, the competitive scene might turn her off. Overwatch is not a good example, but you could try Borderlands 1 and 2, it's co-op, RPG, has quite a sarcastic tone and she might like the characters. It's also a shooter, not the easiest i should mention, but i've seen my partner handling Borderlands on the console pretty well, i mean it's easier on computer.... more or less.

Another game but you'll have to wait some time is Stardew Valley, the developer is about to put up the multiplayer part and you can farm together. If you're familiar with Harvest Moon, this is something you should look out for. Theres also another "farm" game, but still in early access, can't remember the name though. It's not just about farming a few crops in this game, it also hajs a story, pretty good characters and several tasks to do, alongside with seasonal (ingame) events.

Keep in mind she might not like PC gaming at all after a while, my partner did not and it's hard to convince someone spending time into this, most think it is a waste of time after all, though alot of hobbies are, so.....

Good luck OP!

It's not a FPS or anything, but you can play it with her and has a great story.
The name of the game is A tale of two brothers, I think

See, it's already "difficult" to recommend a game to someone you don't know -- now you're upping this by including *your* girlfriend as well.

Now I don't do multiplayer and not a whole lot of shooters, but Borderlands is probably the same as in singleplayer -- and it's certainly fun, not taking itself too seriously.

Thanks everyone, Borderlands 2 does sound like a great choice to start off, I really liked the first one. Also happens to be on sale! To answer the first question, she is into Disney/Pixar stuff which is probably why she likes the animation characters from Overwatch. But yes the competitive style and nerd ragers in ranked play are a tough pill to swallow for new players and she is totally not ready for that. As for me I am really easy going to try pretty much anything, even went as far as buying BattleFront II and Mass Effect Andromeda despite the God Awful reviews.. which proved relatively accurate. Appreciate the input everyone!

PS. I never played "Everquest" but one of my fondest memories growing up was World of Warcraft Vanilla to Cataclysm so I can appreciate old school MMORPG too.
If she doesn't mind crude humor and "adult" jokes, Saints Row: The Third and Saints Row IV are awesome for two-player co-op.

Well I'm a girl and I got into PC gaming with TF2, literally my first ever game on PC and from that I moved onto other games on Steam and play multiplayer regularly now.

So I recommend TF2.
