Reverse image search but for videos?
My friend found this gem:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1dRBWyf6z8
Would there be a way to find it through something equivalent to a reverse image search? I already know the source through my master investigation skills, but I'm curious about this being a method I could use.

So I did find the source: http://strawinsky.net/
But still, is there a way to "reverse image search" videos? That sounds useful.

I found the source by using a screenshot of the thumbnail and using the reverse search on Google Images. Not sure if there's a website or program out there that can tell you the origin of the video directly without digging a little bit.

You just screenshot and cropped, or is there a fancy way to get thumbnails off of youtube?

Yes I used my phone and took a screenshot and cropped the thumbnail. Super simple. It has helped me a lot with some videos that are on other websites other than YouTube.

Yes, it's possible. However, most use the audio track to match or a screenshot DNA. So it's not actually the entire video content.

Shazam - Listens to music and will name you that song.

Yarn Search Engine - Searchs movie clips via quotes.

What is my Movie - Artificial Intelligence that understands video via Valossa technology.

Are a few online ones which might help you out. As for advance stuff, you tend to have to pay for it and/or download an application.
Mosat of the technologies that identify music tracks etc. typically rely on embedded "watermarks" that exist on the fringes of 20kHz frequency so are included within DFT transforms of compression algorithms but are not necessarily audible.
These watermarks are tiny (compared to the information content of a music track or video) typically less than 64 bits. These are repeated throughout, so any poetion of the track may be analysed to identify the watermark.

The watermarks also help to manage diftal rights and identify cases of infringement.
