so by the ten commandments , megamind is chaotic neutral . yes ?

Usually it´s split up.
The chaotic - neutral - lawful axis.
and the good - neutral - evil axis.
Chaotic - Lawful is about following rules.
Good - Evil is about doing good or evil things.
Neutral is about doing what You think is right.

man my head hurts like if i torture a evil devil for fun ,does that make me good or evil ? the act is evil but its done to evil character
Triple G 2019 年 10 月 24 日 上午 5:07
It´s about the act. (In Pathfinder:Kingmaker almost everything which is against evil characters is considered lawful good - but perhaps not if it´s about torturing.)

Here's what I remember from my D&D days:

Lawful/Chaotic = collective/individual

Good/Evil = benevolence/malevolence

So in that context, a chaotic neutral person would be a pure individualist indifferent to the impact that their actions have on the welfare of others.

Chaotic good would entail someone working outside the strictures of 'law and order' to the benefit of others. Think Robin Hood.

True neutral would be someone believing that there is no law without chaos and no good without evil. That all facets are necessary for balance.

Mostly depends on your setting, and what might be deemed acceptable in society.

If it's for fun, you might be bordering between chaotic neutral and evil.

If it's for interrogation purposes, it could be chaotic good, or even lawful good; it depend.

ok then . say a chaotic neutral and chaotic evil wanna have fun ? whats the difference if both are chaotic ?

Usually there are also alignment changes. And in case of a paladin - he has to be lawful good. At least in most games i know.

Is it about some specific game anyway? Just a general question, which was on Your mind for some time now?

relief yourself by realising that such moral system is based on characters wanting to act accordingly, not just acting (as a sociopath would act based on their goals).

Achieving neutral state by whatever means. But guessing that true neutrals may not act on anything or they actually are a combination of everything.

i played games like baldur's gate 2 and neverwinter nights 1 and 2 and from what i understand, chaotic means that you don't follow any rules. like you can even be a chaotic good and still lie from time to time, you break laws, but not in your own interests; for the benefit of others. and the hardest is lawful evil but i don't really understand that. it supposed to mean a bad guy who still follows some rules. an example might be someone who frames his enemy for a crime, he doesn't kill him himself but he lets the law punish him? did i get it right?.. (o_O)

man i just want to make a character that can do anything as he please . my last session everyone keep saying you cant do that like come on its just a bit but then again it seems i have to stick to the script .

i guess its my mistake to be ally with someone from opposing beliefs

"an example might be someone who frames his enemy for a crime"
[lawful good] let the law punish him
[lawful evil] Judge for Yourself, because You know it´s against the law and kill him
[chaotic good] let him go
Just as example and as "Angry Hibari" pointed out - it´s not just about one action.
