TIL that if you run into the security door at the end of HL1's hazard course enough times, the VOX messages will become increasingly threatening.

Not sure if you triggered the turret by the security door. Hint: Don't accidentally shoot Barney or the scientists. Also you can survive but you fail the hazard course.

Huh, I didn't even know there was a triggering system for the turrets. Then again, whenever I play Half-Life, I always go the "hero" route by saving scientists and allowing them and guards to follow me as far as the level design allows.

It's a pretty cool feature and is kind of like a miniature immersive sim, where different playstyles will result in short-term outcomes.

I hate to like, mess up the thread or whatever, but I kind of have some thoughts I guess and I'm not sure where else to put them. Almost all the anti trans and anti LGBTQ stuff is posted by Americans. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, covid should have taught me how viciously apathetic and intolerant Americans are as a whole. When I got vaccinated against covid there was a small group of people outside the health department yelling at people who got the covid vaccine. It was then when I caught an inkling of what women go through leaving abortion clinics only to have abuse slung at them from every direction.

I didn't die from covid or the "clot shot", but many right wingers ended up perishing from covid. They are so traditionalist and anti change that they will literally just tip over and die rather than admit they are wrong not just intellectually, but morally. These people have dragged our country down for decades and they will continue to do it for decades longer. I think it's time to admit the US is a failed state and is just forever lost to making any and all progress toward a brighter future. The writing was on the wall with Bush and the entire 20 year war/police state he created in his wake. Idk, whatever.

What good is a left landslide if the cost of living permanently goes up again like it did after covid? Shutting down the economy sends ripple effects that last life times. There is a real possibility that many more people just won't make it from this point forward financially, no voting or bills are going to solve that. It's over and it's been over for awhile. Trump just put the final nail into the coffin with his dumb tariffs.

It's a strange pull indeed. This is the third time OT has pulled me back and I fear it has become exceedingly good at it. Maybe you'll have better fortune. Remember, when to reach the fork in the road go left. Do not go right.
