How do I stop hearing myself through my Xbox mic?
I use a wired Xbox One controller to play Xbox One, and instead of an outlet for an Xbox mic on it, it has the same outlet that you plug earphones into, indicating that I can use a PS4 mic for it, and that's what I do, I use a PS4 headset, which lets me hear audio from in game and people in my party.

The mic works perfectly fine and people can hear me through it, however, I can even hear myself through it. When I speak the audio coming through my mic plays through my headphones as well.

Is there any way to stop this?

Is the audio delayed or is it just an echo of whatever you say in real time? If its a faint echo of whatever you say your mic might just have a playback feature built in, I know this was the case whenever I played console games, almost EVERY headset had this. In fact this feature was a key part of headsets for me, its quite nice and keeps you from talking loudly and it also allows you to hear what you are saying when in game audio is overpowering your voice.

If the audio is delayed 1-2 seconds and its bothering you then make sure your jack is plugged in ALL the way, half in half out can cause this. Tinkering with your audio settings might help but its hard to tell if this is a technical issue or a feature on your headphones. What kind of headphones do you have, a specific model would be nice.
