Might be playing the same genre or just that many games try the same old trick. Too much time might be a thing too. Take a break, maybe if new stuff isnt yours there is websites offering the old classics (i enjoyed the old adventures on gog alot).

It happens. Could be saturation, could be you becoming jaded, hard to say. I'm in my mid 40s and have been playing video games for over three decades, and I still find games that I really enjoy, though titles that really pull me in and get me hooked are rare. That was always the case, though.

What changed for me is that truly innovative games have become exceptions (the 1990s saw many new genres being born as technology advanced) and that there are so many indie and early access games now that I find it hard to find gems. I feel overwhelmed looking at the store.

Things are a bit more commercial than they used to, communities are larger, and the "sense of wonder" is a little diminished, but mostly the problem for me is oversaturation of the marketplace. (I have this problem with books too, thanks to self-publishing and lack of curating, so I mostly read older novels that were traditionally published.)

no, but is getting bored of games a problem? do you do other things that aren't boring to you? do you have other things you can do? if so, it's probably a non-issue. you might come back to games later and find them fun again.
No, it's not a problem for me. Just wanted to know if I was the only one getting bored.

I think that describes me pretty well, too. I still enjoy delightful, fresh-feeling games that just come up with a new idea or perspective and make it work... but a lot of the big-budget titles just feel like the same two or three games over and over again, which just fills me with ennui.

Can certainly be hard to find those gems among all the promising but poorly-executed examples and outright failures. Sometimes, even a fairly good game will fail to keep me engaged somehow. Suppose that's the price I pay for overexposing myself over the years... still, there's always the option of doing something else and coming back to it when it strikes one's fancy.^^

Got to realize that gaming company's stopped creating actually games. Instead we get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ dumb downed sequels that constantly recyle the same formula over and over and over again and are purely deisgned to sell microtranstions,DLC's, or to exploiting gambling addicts with loot boxes.

Gaming, for awhile now, has became corporatized. Creating "Live Services" is far more important than creating actually games. Gaming for me is dieing as a hobby, despite that i have enjoyed it immensly ever since CS . Try looking for indie games, since this is where most of the best ♥♥♥♥ is coming from.

Just look at what happend to the total war series, its sickening.

They've been doing that since the NES days.

Really the reason why many seem to enjoy gaming less is because they keep playing the same style of games and quite frankly your brain is hardwired to seek and need novelty. Do something and get a Dopamine rush once. FIne. DO the same thing again and you'll get another dopamine rush but it won't be as high because your brain gets used to the level. You need to double the dopamine to achieve the same hgh you got the first time.

Games are all at their core very similar and thusly the stimulation triggers the same pathways. Thusly you will find yourself getting bored quickly.

The cure... Either widen your gaming tastes, (expose yourself to new genres and styles of games), or even better take up another hobby. Say, reading, exercise, music, whatever. Give yourself some variation in pleasurable activities

I thoughjt the same thing. I bought a game when it was on sale, XCOM2. I really don't play games like that. I fell in love with it. Lots of fun. I think there are too many hit or miss games on the market now too.

Break free of the chains of generic shooters and you'll see there is a wonderful world of games. :2016whoadude:

I wouldn't say "boring," but I have felt like the games that I own have become stale, and regardless of how much I've enjoyed playing them in the past. (Despite this happening with Omerta, I'm still keeping the Omerta theme and Italian name for my Steam profile!)

Sometimes trying a game from another genre does the trick. I normally like management sims and visual novels (I never claimed to be an interesting person!), but lately I've been playing an online board game, and it's been the game I've been playing the very most this month.

Stay away from games media is my advice. I noticed this has dampened my vidya gamin enjoyment. Also try to play a game that you have not played in a long time that you realy liked. It seems to be working for me ,somewhat. Although I have totaly lost the will to play anything multiplayer and I used to realy dig co-op games.

i just googled to see if people were feeling the same and this game up lol.

but yeah lately there's nothing that is interesting me.

battlefield? Bored of it. Call of duty? bored of it Counter strike? Bored of it.

GTA 5? bored of it. Mordhau? Becoming bored of it but i have no choice in this genre.

Planetside 2? Bored of it.

But the issue is there's really nothing of interest coming out so i'm either stuck with dying games or i'm forced to sit around and watch porn or argue on forums for dying games.
