About meme 'друг'

OK seriously. Why all of the sudden a meme about deathclaw from Fallout franchise became as meme of being 'друг'? Is this another silly meme jokes?
Although word 'друг' translated as 'friend' on russian and I don't understand it already.
Any explanations about that deathclaw meme?
