Most unlikable video game protagonists?

What are some protagonists that are just straight up unlikable? And why?

For me,

-Kratos, God of War ( One dimensional killing machine, is too stupid to realize murdering everything isn't a solution for every problem. Me and a friend finished GoW 4 recently and while the games themselves are pretty cool, Kratos just needs to DIE. Was secretly hoping both he and atreus died after every boss fight. They technically should have, especially after a particular boss, but oh well.)

-Booker DeWitt, Bioshock Infinite ( It didn't help that Elizabeth had to compensate by filling the personality quota for the both of them, given how he was as dry as a cardboard sheet in the Sahara Desert)

-Alex Mercer, Prototype( Another one dimensional killing machine, not sure why these get popular. Is it because they're 'badass'?)

-Prophet, Crysis 3 ( Crysis 2 is actually one of my favorite FPS'es, it looks great, paces itself exceptionally well and is a blast to play through. Crysis 3 however, was ridiculously foirgettable and part of it was because of Prophet.)

-Cole Phelps, L.A Noire ( Also known as Doubting Robot 3500, with a textbook understanding of what human emotions mean)

I also want to say Nathan Drake but i've techinally not played any Uncharted Game, just watched full playthroughs of UC3 and 4. So not sure if I can...

Which ones did you find extremely unlikable?

At least it was "a" character. Better someone like him than your stupid silent protagonist. It's one of the reasons why I prefer Bioshock Infinite over the othe Bioshock games.

At least it was "a" character. Better someone like him than your stupid silent protagonist. It's one of the reasons why I prefer Bioshock Infinite over the othe Bioshock games.

I personally prefer a silent protagonist because you, the player can fill in for him.

Can't do that with tragic protagonists like Booker.

Kratos for sure. Literally ripped off the barbarian from diablo 2 and somehow calls him spartan. Also just a nerd power fantasy Mary sue that losers wish they were, killing big guys in badass ways and banging chicks.

Geralt from the Witcher. Pretty much for the same reason as Kratos minus the being a diablo 2 barbarian rip off.

Cloud from Ff7. Annoying emo kid that is even worse when you watch the final fantasy movie. Don't know how anyone could like that depiction of him.

Tidus from ff10. His voice is annoying (despite that his voice acting was probably the best in that game when compared to very sub par voice acting for the rest of the characters like lulu and auron) and he's just the worst stereotypical anime protagonist.

Master chief from halo. Pretty much again for the nerd power fantasy Mary sue. He's so badass he's a Master AND a chief.

The protagonist from deus ex human revolution. My God I remember when they showed off the game on e3, the main game director I believe (or the guy who was showing off the game) was literally who they modeled the character after, and then made him more badass than big boss and wesker put into one character, with a terrible "yeah I'm badass" juvenile attitude.
Like seriously dude, you put yourself into the game and made you the most badass character that was seemingly imagined by an 8 year old who watches too many movies?

Alex Mercer is not a protagonist. He's an antihero and in the second game he is definitely evil.

Damn, I forgot all about Aiden. He's such a hypocrite.
Constantly whining about his family getting hurt, meanwhile murdering hundreds/thousands of innocent civilians on his rampage of revenge.

Far Cry 3. Why would I want to become a spoiled rich kid with no experience in combat that somehow become an OP "warrior" later in the game while on drugs?

Deus Ex : Human Revolution. Adam Jensen's voice annoyed me for some reason, it's like there's something inside his throat. Too much augmentation will do that to your throat. Pretty boring character too.

Mass Effect : Andromeda. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I missed Shepard so much. Ryder is such a boring character. I can't even finish the game when you and the entire team acts like a child on a serious situation with cringy jokes.

Talion from Shadow of Mordor/War.

I kind of second this! But I didn't add him in because I like the banter he has with Celebrimbor, and in Lord of The Hunt DLC he shows a surprsing amount of wit.

Honestly, I hated Ashley Graham in Resident Evil 4. Her character offers nothing of substance and is basically a damsel in distress -- completely useless in the violent world of the game.
