Deepest game you've played
What game did you play that you felt was really deep in some way, whether gameplay or story?

In some ways I felt Majora's Mask was pretty deep, especially for a Zelda game. Another one which I feel is far more definitive to suggest in this context is Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic. There's a lot to the writing and characters, and it explores that universe pretty deeply.

So, what's the deepest game you ever played?

Half Life 2 ( Obvious reasons that I could write about till the end of time)

Spec Ops the Line (This game completely blindsided me, and I loved it for that. I think I spent the month after finishing it just...thinking about it. )

Lisa: The Painful RPG was something else for reasons that ruin the game if spoiled.

The Metal Gear series

I agree, the series itself has many Nietzschean tones and definitely emphasizes the idea of overman. Hideo Kojima is a genius because he is able to express each game theme through the development of character and human empathy.

Deus Ex is another game that focuses on similar themes to the Metal Gear series. It is one of the few games that encourages critical thinking on artificial intelligence, genetic cloning, augmentation and plutocracies.

NieR: Automata; but in reality, all of the games in the Drakengard/NieR universe are amazing. They all seem so deep to me, causing one to think about issues such as metaphysics, the self, ethics, and justice.

I have been interested in checking out NieR: Automata as metaphysics and multiverse theories are a subject of interest for me but I have heard that the PC port is quite poor.

I like the metaphysics stuff too, but I'm more interested in the questions about the self and justice that the games in the Drakengard/NieR series evoke. Whereas questions about the former are mostly theoretical, those of the latter have very real and immediate implications on society and life in general.

Is how I see it, anyway.

I'd agree but none of those stories involve complex plots, besides Bioshock a lil.
