Anime!
Does anyone else find anime to be really childish despite the nudity, violence and language in them. Just the way the characters act in general: they act how you'd expect a twelve year olds to act.

Kinda, dunno.
I've been watching anything much more mature.

That very heavily depends on the anime, as well as the genre.

They're more mature than in any American sitcom. Or superhero skit.

because they ARE middle schoolers.

I swear to you, give it a chance. It'll be the most amazingly ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up thing you see all year. You might even have a religious experience, as I did.

Alternatively, Gankutsuou is a retelling of the most classic revenge story ever told. Many of the characters are quite gritty.

it depends alot on the anime , some characters in "children" anime like Naruto can act childish ( most Protagonists in popular shonen anime do ( naruto , ruffy , natsu etc)

then there also are protagonists in some less mainstream Anime that dont act like 12 year olds at all (like Yuno Gasai and Minene Uryuu in Mirai Nikki ( the protagonist of that anime is a crybaby tho (but he is only 14 years old)) very often in mainstream anime even if the protagonist is childish theres alot that arent

Western audiences are kind of used to treating cartoons as "for kids" -- which might also reflect which Anime is actually released outside of Japan, and it probably affects which shows are picked up by TV stations.

Interesting, I didn't think about it this way. Thanks for contributing

That depends on the anime. Not all anime is childish and unbearable. Usually mainstream ones are.

But hey, if you watched several anime before and came to that conclusion? I accept it.

are you high, mate? or do you think japanese culture is based off of teen culture
literally the same as saying any other culture is childish just cause of what the younger generation does

nudity, violence, or gore has nothing to do with being childish or adult, it's the meaning behind the anime
same with whatever type of comedy or characters there are.
