Wasn't it Gamespot that had the whole "Overwatch looks worse on the PC" thing going on? Anyways, IGN because their site looks better than the other two.

I don't know who would win, but I know the reader probably loses

Kotaku.

Just think about that for a minute.

Metacritic rates sports games and Zelda games way too high

IGN is biased towards IPs they own (AHIT)

GameSpot... Exists...

Gamespot was under fire for selling good reviews. I know of one writer who lost his job when he refused to give Kain and Lynch a good review, who's ads were covering their site at the time. I don't know what else they were up to.

Damn, that's kind of sad, reminds me of a famous game critic who was put under the spotlight and thrown into a dumpster because he gave an honest and fair review of Fallout 4. But this is what I'm talking about:

I feel Xplay was a good game rating series.

I kind of miss that show with Adam and Morgan.

None. I don't go to game journalists for game reviews.

Is there something special I am missing here about why they have over 50,000 followers?

That might actually be the same guy. Did a little bit of research and the only poorly received review of Fallout 4 I could find was the one written by Jeff Gerstmann, the same author of that Kane and Lynch review.
