Earthbound: How do I beat Giygas?

I know, I'm late for the party. But I just got Earthbound on my 3DS a few months back and been playing it almost non-stop. Such a fun game, I feel bad for missing out on it on the SNES, but we never owned that console.

Anyhow, I made it aaaaall the way to Giygas, but I can't beat him.
I've heard that Paula's prayers can hurt him and I've done so until she no longer can't. Everyone keeps dying and Ness' and Poo's PP drains way too fast so I can't revive or heal them all after a few rounds.

i'm stuck lmao, i have the franklin badge on Ness, and Paula's dead. i'm a goner, nothing for me to do until i get a game over. keep in mind this is my first ever playthrough. i feel like i should boot up a save file i had before the battle, but now i'm curious, i wonder if i can last all the way to see if i can kill Giyga like this. i think i'm at level 82 for Ness, so i'm technically under leveled for this battle and i get to watch Ness lose 6-14 HP at a time.
