anyone else a NEET?
i've been NEET for about 2 years now, people say it sucks but personally it's not that bad, mainly because i've found ways to enjoy myself beyond video games and porn. just curious, is anyone else on steam NEET? how's your quality of life?

NEET stands for Not in Employment, Education or Training btw. so basically, you don't work and you don't go to school, you just sit at home all day.

Will probably last for a few months, I hope. No idea how you do it. I preferred doing things.
Willingly being one is a terrible, parasitic way of living.

Nope, I couldn't stand being a NEET, I understand why people could manage though.

This may be a country difference thing mostly. In America renting out houses is way different. If someone does not pay you then you do not have to pay anyone to get them out all you have to do is call the cops and have them take them out for free if they do not follow if I remember right.

Depending on the area in America you can buy cheap houses for around $40,000 or so so there seems to be a big money difference. Mostly with houses at those prices you can rent out for $400 a room or maybe even $700 the whole place a month depending on how the house is.
In Virginia the police come after you go to court to get them evicted. It's a process that takes time and lots of steps and at the end of it you can finally get the police to cart all their junk out to the curb. You can eventually get the money you are owed too but that could take ages and more time in court.
Here you'd need a cheap home that is made livable by the standard of your locality and if you don't want the hassle of maintaining the property, choosing tenants, collecting payment and dealing with legal problems you might want to hire a property management firm and collect profit on what is left over.

You wont think its so great when your over 19/24 (depends on scheme), with no trade on the NLW getting 21 hours a week if your lucky assuming you havent just finished doing your As and took a year out.

I am on SSD, Disability, but I still work part time. Not out of financial necessity, but because I need the outlet. This intrinsic need to be doing something productive. Disability can be a insidious trap. Some people celebrate it, saying that you’re set for life. It’s an empty, soul-sucking existence for a lot of people. How many hours can a person spend playing video games and watching shows before some existential crisis emerges? But such a crisis would be considered a good thing. Too many people are content living as such and still call it a “life”.

My house is my own, in my name, all paid for. Three bedrooms, two baths. All mine with no wife or kids. No debts to hold me back and probably no inheritances.

I have a decent portfolio that I am always adding to. I could quit the job and live off of a plethora of benefits like free oil/propane for heating, food stamps and whatnot. (Our tax dollars at work.) Complete with the local Samaritan clinic with the free (but forever-long waiting list) medical and dental services. But I like to keep active. Some people might say it’s a pride issue.

I could never live the life of a NEET. I did so for a good 2 months while looking for a job and it was the most dull and boring 2 months of my entire life.

I need to do something with my life. Whether its a job or education. Otherwise I'd go insane.

Yes, your parents should cut off all support to you. That'd straighten you up.
i don't disagree, that's probably not going to happen though. i think that they know that if i was ever homeless i probably wouldn't hesitate to hurt myself as i have a history of self-harm and ♥♥♥♥ like that.
At some point they're going to realize that enabling you to waste your life away on their dime is a worst form of self-harm, and that the tough love of cutting you off and letting you hit rock bottom in the hope you start working through your issues is better. Even if that means the risk of losing you forever.

Or they're in such a violent disagreement on how to deal with you, they get divorced and "your" 200k gets spent on a sports car, a blond bimbo and your new half-brothers and half-sisters.
