anyone else a NEET?
i've been NEET for about 2 years now, people say it sucks but personally it's not that bad, mainly because i've found ways to enjoy myself beyond video games and porn. just curious, is anyone else on steam NEET? how's your quality of life?

NEET stands for Not in Employment, Education or Training btw. so basically, you don't work and you don't go to school, you just sit at home all day.

I see that as a problem unless you have the money to do that. If that is the case good for you.

Dunno how you could live like that.

Personally, I want to make something of my life. I have goals, and I'm gonna damn well achieve them.
i could see how it's hard to believe but the last 2 years of living like this have been fine. not bad, not great, but for me this is how it's going to be until i decide to straighten up, though maybe i won't, maybe i'll continue to live like this for my entire existence. who knows?
What about when you fall in love with someone? Want to start a family? Have a midlife crisis which you have a high chance of having? Of course you can say "Who gives a toss about that kind of stuff?" at your age but 18 year old isn't 28 year old you.
You should think of the future a bit more.

Australia is starting to cut off welfare payments to people who can work but don't. I'm happy they are :DragonHopeful:

but what about your future? That lifestyle sounds comfortable but it can't always stay like that
when my parents die i will get inheritance, about 200,000 dollars worth which should be enough to live off of for a while in a small studio apartment. i'm either going to spend the last of it on barbiturates and kill myself or actually try to get an education.
Want to hear a secret? Buyout a few cheap houses with that money and rent them out but make sure they are liveable.

Know that $200,000 that at some point would be gone?

Well now you may not have $200,000 but you will be making maybe $2,000 or more a month and you would only have to pay for taxes every so often if you save at least $10,000 or so on you a year for house taxes you will be golden.

With the risk of the tenants not paying what they owe you, having to fix the houses into a livable standard, having to repair the house from time to time because the tenant is a pillock, no, he would only be able to buy one house and the risks of income at that money are way too big.

I would not say that is 100% accurate while that can happen you can make contracts where they give you first and last months rent when they move in. So that solves the whole not paying thing you at somepoint thing.

Making a house at a liveable standard is not the hardest thing to do I would say. I will admit some people can be pretty picky though and want the stranges things done.

I would say he could maybe get 4 houses if done right but I would recommend getting maybe 2 or 3 and renting out multiple rooms while doing good background checks and making good contracts with a set of rules and payment stuff.

You can't help tenants not paying you, it just happens, you even need to pay for the council to kick them out in the UK which sets you back hundreds of pounds.
Houses in the UK are also very expensive, a two bedroom apartment south of England costs around £200,000 to buy, renting on average is around £1000pcm.
Standards are also extremely high, a lot of new builds are very well insulated which causes black mold and damp to kick in, depending on how much of a tramp the tenant is, it's down to you to hire someone to clean it or go over and clean it yourself because you can get sued for not looking after the property.

This may be a country difference thing mostly. In America renting out houses is way different. If someone does not pay you then you do not have to pay anyone to get them out all you have to do is call the cops and have them take them out for free if they do not follow if I remember right.

Depending on the area in America you can buy cheap houses for around $40,000 or so so there seems to be a big money difference. Mostly with houses at those prices you can rent out for $400 a room or maybe even $700 the whole place a month depending on how the house is.

i won't fall in love with someone because i'm scared ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of meeting people. i won't start a family because i can't stand children and i'm also unattractive as ♥♥♥♥ so nobody would have sex with me. i might have a midlife crisis but i don't really know what that entails.

Just sounds like you may need a whole can of self confidence to be honest.

As I said, you as you are now may not care but give it 10-20 years and you might and I hope you don't because it's horrible, the later you leave it, the worse it gets too, women stop producing eggs around 45 years old which means you'll never have a family which would be heart breaking if you wake up one day when you're 60 years old wanting a son/daughter.

Also just because you don't find yourself attractive doesn't mean other people don't find you attractive.
