Something deep, on par w/ Wurm or LIF while still being interesting....
Unreal World is literally the first title to come to mind. The fact that noone here has brought it up is a tad pathetic, especially considering it is a free game (although it's newest revision is on Steam for 11 bucks).
Its based in a fictional setting forged after Scandinavia in the Iron ages. Deep crafting w/ survival elements, can't beat the price (can try earlier versions for free), offers a wide variety of skillsets to choose from, as well as starting paths.
Graphically speaking, Its not the most stunning of the bunch, and it takes a bit of getting used to (as it's keybindings are definitely about as alien as they come for your typical gamer) But its a very satisfying title when I need to scratch that crafting-based game itch.

Crafting weapons/armor, possibility to get boosted item, if you have another rare material, and possibility to upgrade more what you crafted

To be honest I never played a game with a more complex crafting system...
It's EA, just by the way!
