A furry is a person with an interest in anthropomorphic animals. The furry community has a very big art community which is the main thing that draws interest - and for some it may be sexual, and for some others it is not. Sexual furry content or furry porn is called yiff, sexual roleplaying or masturbation is also referred to as yiffing.

Fursuiting is very similar to cosplaying, it could be for roleplay reasons or just for the fun of it.

People who identify as animals are called otherkin, not furries.

It's a mental condition where superego contradicts deficient ego to an extent where such a cirisis of identitiy manifests itself through the inability to feel confident or assured of ones' own esteem, thereby seeking a different persona and association for comfort whilst acknowledging their inabiltiy to aspire and relate to fellow humans.

Humans being extremely social animals form strong bonds through associations even rivalling those of family or reproductive imperative which enforces the identification with such associative ideology and groups. The generally fringe subcultural identities such as "furries" are often less well accepted by a majority population,k whcih further enforces and encourages the mutual bonds of those within the pseudocultural boundary - this increases tendencies to seek and find sense of'belonging' or even rightfulness of the identity divergences and the acceptance of the 'furry' peers.
