Is LaunchBox safe?
I am using LaunchBox, a nice frontend, for my games that are not on Steam, but I am curious to know if it is safe to use it for Steam. It is asking for my Steam custom URL. Does providing the custom URL jeopardize the privacy of the Steam account?

That's a good point. I'm debating if I should keep Steam separate from LaunchBox or not. I'm just tired of the tiny font in Steam, but if I use LaunchBox it will be another step due on top of Steam Guard.

Launchbox is an optional program that allows you to view your games from steam/origin/uplay/emulators, any game you can play on the PC in one place, the only thing that's bad about it is you have to manually find the exe. file if you want to start a game through it and then it will open the DRM the game is behind.
It's basically for people who buy things digitally and want a digital library of box art, manuals, trailers, your collection of games.

It's perfectly safe to use your public profile URL, it isn't a breach to your safety and the program doesn't need to be on to play your games.

Thanks. I am having some trouble with OneDrive, where LaunchBox is installed. After these issues are fixed, I think I will at least try it.

I've been using LaunchBox for a while, now. It is great. I figured out how to sync it to OneDrive, by simply installing it in the OneDrive system folder. LaunchBox 8.5 just released, and it is a nice update. Even the free version, which I am using, received a significant update. I highly recommend it. The best part is that you can store screenshots, images and notes for each game. I still haven't used it for Steam. I've decided that I would rather keep my Steam games separate from my emulators.
Safer than ur girlfriend.

Thanks, but she's quite safe. The free version is so good I don't feel the need to buy the paid version but I feel a tad guilty. They are basically asking for $50 for the full blown version and that's just too much for it. Maybe I will buy it one day to support them.

Hope you give it a try. I didn't catch the religion in the free version. I really enjoy using the free version of LaunchBox. Today I figured out that you can even arrange the game into favorites.

Absolutely not. Paid emulators will be hunted by Nintendo and other companies. When you paid Launchbox via credit card, they have your information in their data. Once Nintendo punish Launchbox in the court, they get their whole data and your credit card in their data, you will probably get an email from Nintendo lawyers that you are complicit and you will have to pay fine.
