Unpopular opinion: People shouldn't whine about necroposting
If anyone here is unaware of what necroposting is, it's basically posting in threads or discussions where nobody posted in a long time, something like one nanosecond ago, according to some people. The word can be separated in "necro" which basically means dead, and "posting" word I'm sure you know the meaning.
Now, back to the main topic, people complain a lot about necroposting. Too much. And this doesn't help our community. But it has a solution. In your computer, there's a big button at your right that says "Unsubscribe" or "Cancel subscription" that you can click to automatically stop receiving notifications when someone posts in a discussion. On mobile phones, you can swipe that blue thing on your left and tap the same button.
And with that, there's one thing left for me to say: my opinion. In my opinion, necroposting is a first world problem. Kinda like having the air conditioner one unit above what you want. Both are easy to fix, and you have no excuse to whine about them. Unless you want to be seen as a lazy fu... person. So, stop whining about necroposting, it's not worth your time and it's annoying. Especially when everyone whines about it on a post with comments from a week ago.

Edit: Your problem is that you all necro-haters confuse necroposting and off topic comments (which is kind of dumb considering calling out a necroposter Is getting off topic).

As long as it is still within the same topic and has nothing to do with an old but now fixed issue, it is fine.

Anything other than that, do not necro threads.

But some threads need to be left alone after more than a year...

The mods agreed as the thread is locked.

My reply was on the same topic, and there was no issue, it was an open question for anyone to respond anytime and anywhere.
Edit: did you ask a moderator to lock the discussion?

And a mod agreed with the other users and that is why the thread was locked.

Any more questions?

Why, tho? As I said, the discussion wasn't closed because it was made so people could answer.

Once someone necros for no good reason after that long, users start to complain and a mod stops it all because of the 2 incidents.

1. Necro

2. Arguing

Hence...

This topic has been locked by a moderator, no replies can be made.

You could just start a new thread with your info from that post instead. No one would even know or care about the old thread if you did that.

"Arguing" could be non-existent if people stopped whining about necroposting, and people wouldn't need to lock threads because of that.

It got to that point after it as necro'd.

Why didn't you just make a new thread?

:qr:
Not Big Surprise Jan 23, 2018 @ 9:09am
Because it's hard to make your discussions as famous as those.

If you want popularity, you are doing it wrong.

Edit: And, moved to Off-Topic. :taloslol:

Your post in that thread was not about that.

And it is fine to ask for help in a new thread as most old thread... Wait a minute... I already posted the answer to that...

Let's say you have a problem with a game. You try every solution without success. Then you ask "I tried every solution here, but none of them work. Does anyone have another solution?" If people had common sense, they would answer you something like "yes, try this" or "sorry, I am unaware of any solutions". But instead, everyone's like "oh u dumb necro eat sheet". Wouldn't that be annoying for you? This is why I want to end the necroposting hate.

It's just different around here. It took me a while to get used to everyone starting a new thread on the same subject every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ day. But it's not my job to keep this house clean so I just let it be.

Why starting a new thread that nobody will see if you can ask in another thread? Oh, wait, I know! Because people's heads are shaped like a male reproductive organ and that means they won't help you!
This is why I want to end this necroposting hate.

Now, what you really hate is people posting off topic comments. This has nothing to do with necroposting.

You're not really going to be able to do that. The negative connotation associated with necroposting is pretty universal across most internet forums.
