Broken Headphone jack in Audio Port (Laptop)

Ok so Yesterday I was listning to music but my dog ran over my bed and broke the headphone jack, The thing is HALF OF THE HEADPHONE JACK IS BROKEN and its stuck in the audio port, I have some wireless headphones but I dont want my laptop to live with a broken headphone jack,

Give me some tips on how to get it out, (BTW its 3.5 mm jack)

A pair of nylon tipped tweezers, just make sure to remove the laptop battery first, a miniature pair of needle nosed pliers would be easier but there is greater risk of slipping and causing scratches / damage.

On a seperate note those must have been some cheap n nasty ass headphones for the pin to break that easy.

You should search on Google for these keywords: video, take apart, laptop brand, laptop model. This way, you can learn how to take your laptop apart. On mine, I unplug it and take out the battery. Then I have to remove over a dozen different screws. Then I have to remove some components that slide out. Then I can pull the top half off of the bottom half. There will be some wires and other things connecting both halves, so just open it enough to access the headphone jack. You don't need to unhook the wires and other attachments, but you can. Just be sure you take your time and know what you are doing. And of course, order the part beforehand before taking it apart. Then replace the part and put the laptop back together.

Hold on a minute.... "order the part before hand" are you seriously giving the OP instructions how to dismantle his laptop to just replace an audio socket that would require soldering as a means to simply fix a 3.5mm jack pin stuck in the socket, talk about tenderizing a steak with a tank.

I dont want to do surgery on my gaming laptop, Im already studying to be a heart surgeon and its already a pain in the ass, I just dont want to take everything apart, and looking for a quick simple solution

Is any of the broken jack protruding out of the socket? Could you grab it with some tweezers or something?

Things NOT to do

> Magnets. Using a magnet right next to the Hard Drive is a really, really, really bad idea.

> Surgery. Don't dismantle it, Laptops are soldered together and you may well break something.

1) Squeeze a spot of superglue onto the end of a chopstick.
2) Stick the chopstick to the broken end of the headphone jack.
3) When it's fully bonded, pull.

Don't worry if you accidentally spill some Superglue. You can melt superglue using a hardryer or blowtorch without hurting the laptop.

Oh, sorry. I was thinking that the audio port itself was broken. If it is just a broken headphone jack that is still stuck in the audio port, then I was way off. Sorry about that. And yea, definitely don't use magnets. Too bad you can't just use tweezers. The superglue trick might work, but I wouldn't want superglue anywhere near my laptop. Because I might get some on the laptop and it would be difficult to remove. I went two days without sleep, cranked up on energy drinks and I have been super tired since then. Sorry for giving bad advice.

You can always get a 3.5mm jack to USB adapter and live with the fact that your 3.5mm jack is busted.
