You could actually hear the whole theater
And.... the whole scene with Chewbacca and those stupid friggin birds...
Luke had, what, 7 hours with Obi Wan and at most a day with Yoda. Dude nearly matched his highly trained dad after running around in a swamp carrying a midget. Rey had OBi, Yoda, and Qui Gon Jam jedi brainwashing into her head near the end of TFA. It was the Awakening part of the title.
They give a Back story to Luke. He failed, he realised that the Jedi ways were actually just like the Sith and that the Force was inherently not good or evil, and that it shaped and maipulated the people that use it. It's part of the reason he retreated to the place where the jedi were born, and cut himself off from the force. He is looking for answers. It's why he doesn't kill Kylo, as oddly enough, his student is a lot closer to what he wanted to accomplish than he ever got.
It's why Rey is clearly the villain of this arc.
