I was watching a random anime this morning until I realized how much I hate the forced cutesy and comedy in most anime nowadays.What would you recommend for anime that take itself seriously but not too cheesy?
I liked Evangelion, Re;Zero, Steins;Gate and 91 Days.

Goblin Slayer - I randomly came across the first episode (full) on YouTube last night.
This title should fit the OP's specifications.

I am now watching YouTuber's 1st time / blind reaction to that 1st episode because it's very entertaining seeing how they react to the cave fight scene.

I think Kimchi & Tofu 's reaction are the best.

Okay, for some reason I thought of this series I saw years ago. It's called Reign: The Conqueror. The art style is odd... very odd. It's not even that great apparently but it just shows up in my mind at times.
