I lived in Japan before been on a few dates and I am not Japanese. I lost a girl to icecream, Could of had a girl at a party, but said it was fun dancing with you have a good day then went home, Then there was the girl who said I was the worst date she ever had.

You have to realize something up with the "perfect asian woman" meme when so many men stay away or drop out of society entirely. 5 million jpy would be a bit under $50k usd iirc though and apparently not too much higher (or maybe even lower than, not paying much attention to the source) than the average income in japan, which does make the figure seem a bit less shocking imo.
