How does Duke Nukem still have fans?

He had one good game over 20 years ago which admittedly is very good but every single game since has been garbage.
A couple of bad Tomb Raider clones on the PS1, some janky side scrollers and a dead on arrival FPS which took 175 years to make.
Fart and ♥♥♥♥ jokes aren't that funny.
It makes me think of has-been celebrities who try to cling on to that last shred of fame they have by appearing on reality tv shows.

Edit: Topic could also be called "How does Sonic still have fans?

The Big Bang Theory was massively successful and their only joke was "here's the name of a thing you remember", so it's not surprising that "ho ho, the muscly man said a rude thing" still works as comedy for some people.

sonic is not about going fast at all, it's about going fast enough to avoid killing yourself/losing rings. same thing with duke nukem. it's about stepping back before firing rocket launcher...

I am a HUGE fan of Duke Nukem. So much so, I actually follow Jon St. John on twitter lol. Yes, I agree there were some bad Duke Nukem ports but, lucky for me, I only played SOME of them! ;)

Duke Nukem Forever wasn't bad. It wasn't the best FPS ever but I enjoyed it.

Duke nukem forever was a good game. Better than many modern AAA FPS. I finished it all the way years ago. I have plan to do it again soon on hardest difficulty (unlockd if you beat the game once).

Also not sure what "your generation" is supposed to mean, i'm 35 which is probably older than you are.
But anyway, what i am trying to say is - Duke Nukem is lame.

I'd much rather have outdated and unfunny jokes over the pretentious or "dad-themed" garbage that gets released nowadays.

I'm still bitter about the new "God Of War" game.

whether an individual views farting as toilet humor or turbulence isn't being decided by generation. it's a matter of furious curiosity, and such state isn't being achieved by picking sides between lame and not lame.

DN has iconic status due to being around at a pinnacle point in the history of video games, thats why.
Games now days dont make the leaps in advancement they use to so its totally understandable why certain games of old draw attention, especially at a time a lack of original thought sees our developers rehash old brands.
