We can hear his initial grunt but the "scream" seems like a manifestation of the dark side, not his actual voice. At least that's how I always read that.

This fight scene was way better depicted in the novel as opposed to the movie. The movie didn't elaborate on why the jedi council got mowed down by Darth Sidious, where in the novel, there's much more depth to the fight, such as the explanation for this scream, and why Master Windu was able to survive much longer than the rest of the council.

I uh, actually like that they got mowed down like chumps. The boring slow Windu / Sids fight makes sense, they're all old farts at this point. It's more of a waltz really
