Good example would be Arcania - Gothic 4, which has problems, and the devs never came back to fix the game due to gods know why, but it was the worst game out of the series, here the joke this game also ported to the PS4, and it's also have the same problems that you have on PC. I believe the only version that has optimization was on the Xbox 360, and PS3 version.
These days we're getting ports on PC more often now, and have some kind of decent, or good optimization for them, which isn't bad.
Spend my early teen years with this game on PS2. Don't own a console now so double dipping is not an option for me anyway. Pretty sure I'm not the only one out there who's in this kind of situation.
