So what...when you move you have to carry your sofa on your back to your new place? There's not occupations in Germany where you need a truck?
Trucks are just useful. We have a car (Mazda) but we have a truck too. There's a lot of things that won't fit in my Mazda...including more than 4 people comfortably.
Who are they?
Sure everyone Stereotypes each other, but in different ways. Also the bigger and louder ones stand out a lot more.
We changed our gun laws here in New Zealand within 6 days of a shooting event, then questioned why America couldn't do that? America is quite bias and stuck in their ways, not willing to view others, but yet tell others what to do all the time. It's just the way it tends to play out. No political discussion please, but was just trying to explain the behaviour.
As for this topic, it's a simple question. Why don't you like German cars? Or at least the stereotype looks that way.
The answer is probably simple as well however, German cars are designed for Germans in quality and performance, where as American cars are mass manufactured. While, yes honestly, a German car is probably better quality and will last longer, it will be harder to come by in America and also if it breaks down or needs repairs, the parts would be harder to find and a lot more expensive.
American fuel costs are extremely low compared to other countries as well and they don't care too much about the usage of it either, so they tend to like gas gusslers more. American muscle cars do tend to have a feeling behind them. Even I like those cars for that reason, but they are not effective enough here.
Ever needed to be extremely comfortable and relaxed while cruising at 200km/h on the highway driving to an important business meeting in a different city + loog elegant on your arrival IN A PICKUP? Mercedes S63 AMG.
The kind of people that haul concrete bags are usually not the most successful and probably WORK FOR the Mercedes driver who else would be a successful stock broker or smth like that, not a hillbilly.
Oh wait you Americans, totally forgot you have speed limits whereas in Germany there are tons of highways completely without any speed limit.
But eh your crappy pick up cant go all that fast anyway, or if it can itll probably shake and rattle so hard that its gonna fall apart.
It's no surprise that people instead tend to choose an American brand which they can fix with duct tape in their own driveway, or a Toyota/Honda that is not the least bit part-finicky and will go for 300k miles with good service (which is also easy to find).
My favorite irony these days though, is that there are more foreign parts in the average Ford engine than the average Honda engine (assuming both cars sold in the US market), due to differences in tariffs and outsourcing policy.
