Windows XP is the best OS?

Most tech still running on it to this day. Even modern tech is made specifically to the Windows XP. It's still quite popular OS in many countries as well. Not to mention a lot of people are still making new updates to it despite it being abandoned by Microsoft and "no longer supported" by them.

But I'd say Windows 7 is good too.

All of these things can be turned off, I have just a normal desktop with a start bar too, the 'mobile-fication' layout can be switvhed off lol, it only updates on the first Tuesday of every month

tbh there is a lot of disinformation out there about microsoft's telemetry services; i.e. i, just now, went a googlin' "windows 10 telemetry" and in about two clicks i was at a website stanning for infowars despite it supposedly being a site about financial investment and also it had writers incapable of actual coherent writing

it was the latter that really made me think, "Jesus Christ I am actually capable of coherent writing so I could make tremendous adbucks writing about whatever falls out of my arse as long as i somehow make it relevant to THE ALGORITHM"

and then i went to the fridge and got another beer

It's more than just the desktop, it's the entire design, and windows classic isn't an option. I tried messing around to disable font antialiasing in win10 once and got some weird convoluted result, win10 auto-updating reenables itself unless you mess with services or the registry or some ♥♥♥♥, the system keeps reminding you cortana still exists iirc, and idk how you'd turn off the lack of backwards-compatibility. There's several games I have off of steam that straight up don't work on win10, according to all the complaints I saw about them. Hell, there's some I play that are pretty iffy on 7, even, I'd hate to see them on 10.

Which games don't work on 10 and I'll see if I can get you some help? The ones that don't clearly say on the store page they won't! (not in reviews but an actual warning on the store page) but because of how the game was coded

Well, they wouldn't work on linux at all, would they :^)
Still, my plan for when support for 7 ends is, like I said earlier, dual-booting win7 and linux while hoping for some absolutely miraculous breakthrough in reactos.

A lot of them (alright, all the ones I can think of with this particular issue) aren't exactly appropriate for steam in the first place and are most likely coded by unpaid japanese men based in a closet mostly for fun. One of them crashes some of the time when you launch it and have a web browser open, to give you an idea of some of the spaghetti that must be going on under the hood of those games.

I do check how much data I send, and there is none. You literally transfering packets on win 10 for whatever excuse they can think of, this bs at minimum takes your internet traffic and slow down your perfomance. Idk if such bs was added on for win 7, because I care not about some worthless updates lol. Both win 7 and xp has been work like clock without any BS updates, and I've learned it the hard way. Besides, I reeeaaaly doubt they do it just to cloud our information. While I'm not going to say some conspiracy theories here, it's more likely to check for pirated stuff you have.
