I've managed myself far but still can't stand some games like Five Nights at Freddy's and Penumbra or Soma... Amnesia I can't really yet handle fully because of the excitement, but yeah.
It's not weird.
Ha ha, me too. I can't play RE2 because chicken out on the splash screen.
Then don't. Play games that you like.
When i started with many horror games at beginning it was scary af for me. For example Resident Evil 7. I was so scared Jack gonna kill me but with time nothing was scary tho
Just play in it :)
If you are scared play with someone on voice call
https://www.fanatical.com/en/bundle/fear-bundle go get it :)
then you wont feel alone when you play it
Sad thing is many "horrors" are meh and only way they can scare you is screamers and QTE
Fantastic game though, for sure.
Each time I would play it, I would be IN the game itself. There is no TV stand, no chair I was sitting in. No TV. No controller in my hand. I would zone out or into the game as it were and each time it was a scary experience due to the nature of the game.
On my last and most likely final play through, as I said I was on my way with the key to the locked closet to get the famed katana blade to put a hurting on the evil in that small little town. I decided to play the game as I thought normal people would play it. Not zoned out or into the game, just a person holding a controller, looking at the TV with a bunch of graphics on it with sounds coming out of it's speakers. It was no where near as scary if at all. Granted again I had played this game so many times I basically knew it like the back of my hand. But the gameplay and how I felt about it completely changed from the last play through to this new one.
As I said I was on my way to the house with the locked closest, key in hand for the beautiful and lovely katana blade. For what ever reason I had taken a break of the game to try out a new "used" game I had just purchased. I am assuming one of the first in the PS1 generation of combat racing games as it had both a password system and a memory card save. Seeing the option for initialize I chose that and the game saved! Yeah!!!
However to my shock and horror, worse than any from Silent Hill... that dollar dust bin trash game from Game Stop completely erased EVERYTHING on my memory card. The 20+ hours of Silent Hill. The 40+ hours of Persona which I was right at the crossroads to do the ending for good or bad. And a whole slew of other noteworthy games. All deleted in a flash, a press of a careless button. For some odd stupid reason that game allowed for the entire memory card to be deleted, just so I could save that piece of crap game. Sad times indeed. Never did play Silent Hill again nor Persona. It still makes me want to cry...
