Star Trek: Picard!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GofH33eer3A

Just what i needed Star Trek i loved Next Generation-Voyager style.

It's seems Picard Data 7 of 9 are also back plus the Vulcans Borg Romulans.

Kind of hope also WORF is coming back with Klingons looks like Next Gen not like disgusting Discovery.

This looks promising:)

Data should have been re-casted with an obese short haired black transgender demi queer asexual womyn and all phasers are now walkie talkies.

I can't watch such a hate filled chauvinistic CIS movie propagate white supremacy by having a white hetero male owning a space ship, ordering people around who are not even the same race as him.

Boo! It's 2019!

It looks pretty awful honestly but we will see.
i am not really a fan of 'coming out of retirements'...
i love how star trek was rebooted, paving the way for the old spock to meet the new spock.

willliam shatner refused to act as old captain/admiral kirk...

they should just reboot st: tng and all other characters to accommodate the new star trek: discovery story lines.
If your panties get in a bunch because of what you perceive as an SJW agenda or Me Too movement, you are not a man to begin with. Let it be known that Star Trek has ALWAYS been about the things you are crying about now. Equality. Justice. Freedom of religion (or no religion). Seeing past just making a profit. Making the world(s) a better place. Socialism. Democracy. And half the stuff you accept now, was not accepted in the original Star trek because of closed minded people. It's one thing if you don't like the production value or acting.
But it always has been and hopefully always will be what it is or it would not be Star Trek.

Problem with your 'utopia' is that it I for the most part completely repugnant...

That is not my 'utopia'. I did not create Star Trek. It's just common knowledge how they have always been.

It's would be like arguing about something from Star Wars that was common knowledge.

storytelling has never been this disgusting.. this isn't 'equality' and 'justice'.. it's pandering in it's most despicable form.. it will backfire of course.. nobody in their right mind would watch garbage like Discovery...

One of the greater offenses of Discovery is that it was never treated as an ensemble show, imo. Yeah, it had a crew of officers, but they always felt like they took a backseat to a single character. It only took a few episodes before I felt like I was watching Star Trek: Burnham.

The fact that I cannot remember anyone else besides Burnham. The other shows, the exchanges, the interactions between the crew, already lays down the dynamics of who and what the characters are to each other. Then it becomes innate. We know Spock, McCoy and Kirk. We also know Riker, Data and Picard. DS9 mixed it around, creating some very interesting dynamics. And Voyager and Enterprise… well, they tried.

Honestly, I have to rewatch an episode so I can remember what they other people are besides Burnham. That is how poorly written they are to me.
Voyager did not try it succeeded it was great show not like anything garbage of Enterprise.

Captain Janeway was a great Captain.

wait.. they didn't get a transgendered lesbian black woman to play Picard?.. what's going on here?
Don't worry the Enterprise is now a refugee space asylum.
It has and always be a loveboat cruiser who goes from planet to planet.

The original Star Trek was made during the cold war when nothing was inevitable, but progress was assumed, the problem is that this became a religion in itself, and the assumptions have reached the end of the line. So yes, in a way star trek itself has become obsolete as they aren't able to actually explore the ideas they claim to have concern over.

Close minded people, who are the ones burning books and deplatforming people today. Who are the new creationists?

Not the side you would have assumed, so your vision of the future was based on a flawed narrative.
Yay, more not original content. I feel like a fool for expecting writers to write new stuff, rather than rewrite their childhood shows etc.

Any thing extreme is bad. Problem is most people have their head's in the sand pretending their party can do no wrong or know they are in the wrong and just need a good ass kicking. If burning books and deplatforming, as you call it, are your major concerns, you have issues.

When did she "smoke" as "captain"? You mean from that holodeck epsiode(s)?

TNG, DS9 and VOY were my favorites. I never was a fan of TOS and ENT. I mean there are classic episodes of course and I do "enjoy" watching them, but no where near as much as the others. My problem with DS9 happened as it was wrapping up. They jumped too quickly at the end and the Cardassian revolt seemed... not so energetic. I remember when they were saying "For Cardassia" and shouting (more like saying) and sounded like a bunch of children. No heart. They seriously needed to reshoot that. And then the whole pah-wraiths and the cave and the final fight with Sisko and Dukat... blah...
