How many of you DON'T like voice chat when playing a multiplayer/online game?

I'm someone who doesn't like it cause of my anxiety and shyness, and I'm wondering who else prefers non-communication/text chat during an online or multiplayer game.

My answer stands... voice chat in game is useless and annoying at best.... it serves no good purpose.

Voice chat is invaluable if you're playing a fast paced co-op game where it pays to be able to communicate on the move as opposed to having to stop and type.
With that said, obviously people can be very obnoxious with it, and for me personally it's far preferred with friends.

MHW : Yes and No.
MMORPG : Yes and No

True to a point... it would have to be with friends, and you can't play with them all of the time...

I do, mostly because I don't talk at all. Friends have asked me to use my mic which I found pointless because literally 95% of the time is just them talking and I am just silently listening.

I always turn off VoIP the moment I start any multiplayer game.

To me voice chat is for when I chat with friends.

I am ok with doing voice chatting with people. A lot of them say they enjoy my voice and it is soothing some reason. But I just have a pretty monotone voice a lot of times. Or so people tell me to.

Will get some people who hate me for just saying hello though when I join games. When that happens I am not a big fan of talking then.

No. And as soon as one of the people opens his mouth, that person gets muted. I have no tolerance for squeakers, people with a stronger Russian accent than Boris from my liquor store around the corner and the slang of the typical American teenager sounding like someone trying to communicate while chewing gum.
