Can someone please explain the ASAP Rocky case to me?
I'm really confused about this and I feel like I'm missing something because this whole case sounds absurd to me.

ASAP Rocky is a rapper who made one of his songs ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kbj2Zss-5GY ) "while tripping on LSD" and he looped throughout the entire song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZEx3itXs4k

The song is bad in general, the beat is just a looped sample that anyone could loop, the lyrics encourage crime and so on.

What happened is that he got involved in a street fight in Sweden. Apparently, he got assaulted by some guys for no reason and the poor guy just tried to defend himself. But is that really true? I think not.

He called the guys "drug addicts" ( https://www.instagram.com/p/Bzax42UnxN0/ ) and he also said that they were "slapping girls butts". The irony is that he is a drug addict himself, and look at this paragraph from Wikipedia ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASAP_Rocky ):

"On August 31, 2013, Mayers allegedly slapped a woman during the Budweiser Made in America Festival. He was charged "with misdemeanor simple assault, a class two misdemeanor". The case was dismissed after a witness failed to appear to court. The woman later filed a lawsuit in July 2014, stating that she still suffered certain conditions following the alleged assault. Mayers stated that he never touched the woman, and that she "should have known that there could be trouble in place with so many people". The lawsuit was settled between the two in April 2015."

It's ironic to see him say this because he is a drug addict who got charged for slapping a woman.

It isn't even his first time in jail or his first time beating up people in the streets:

"In 2004, Mayers served two weeks in Rikers Island for drug dealing, where he shared a cell with future rapper Casanova."

"On July 19, 2012, he was arrested after an alleged involvement in a brawl, with 21-year-old artist iRome in downtown Manhattan."

Now he got arrested for another street fight, and here's what happened:

In July 2019 he was arrested for aggravated assault (later changed to just assault) in Stockholm, Sweden after a concert, after he and his entourage were involved in a brawl on June 30. The victim was beaten, kicked and cut with broken bottles when down on the ground. The victim was taken by ambulance to hospital where he required stitches.

Does kicking and cutting someone while they're laying on the ground, completely defenceless, count as self-defence? No, it doesn't. Even if it originally was self-defence (which I really doubt because this guy isn't really a saint), it eventually turned into a brutal attack. Kicking and cutting someone while they're completely vulnerable is not self-defence, it's brutal and unnecessary violence.

First of all, in case of self-defence, there are many other options which don't involve violence, but if you really have no other option than violence, it's enough to knock down the attacker without seriously injuring them so that you can have time to run away and call the police.

Also, if he got arrested, then he obviously isn't innocent, especially considering that this isn't even his first time getting arrested for beating up people in the streets or his first time being in jail.

The part which I really don't understand is why does everyone try to defend this guy. He's illiterate, he has a criminal record and his music isn't even good. The president of the United States, the United States congress ( https://www.washingtonpost.com/arts-entertainment/2019/07/17/asap-rocky-was-arrested-after-fight-sweden-now-members-congress-say-its-human-rights-issue/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.5e0f3301c43a ), many famous celebrities from Hollywood are trying to convince Sweden to release this guy. Why? I don't understand. Is it just because he's a rapper, even though his music is bad?

So, he clearly committed a crime, yet he still said "IM INNOCENT" (such an intelligent statement by the way) and everyone believes him just because he said that? Or is it that they just refuse to accept the truth, or they know that he's guilty but they still want him to be released just because he's a rapper? I don't get it.

Can someone please read everything I said and then explain why is everyone defending this guy?

I'm not reading this.
I have no idea why so many people defend the rampant drug abuse and other crime that rappers do and glorify. And it's not like Swedish prison is much of a punishnent.
