The main story as well was really meh , didnt grab me at all.
To anyone who enjoys that game, all power to them, i personally prefer PoE 1 story and writing, was soo much better, love poe 2 combat, and dos was also more fun.
Still each to there own, just happy there are soo many crpgs out there atm, and roll on bg3.
I agree with you. There are many elements that players take into consideration when speak of CRPGs, of course, but personally I would say the most important element (above the rest) is the narrative, the story. I prefer the narrative in PoE 1, but is my preference.
See you.
All of these things make beating the game feel like an actual accomplishment. No game has ever done a better job at this than PK has.
I love how terribly built my characters are in PK. It gives them character (no pun intended), and makes them feel like something I can be proud of. Something I created and am using to do what seems like the impossible. Sure I made tons of mistakes when leveling up, but thats just a result (or scars if you will) of the long arduous journey I just experienced. It makes my main characters footprint seem a lot more legendary
POE is a bit easier and is much harder to gimp your character. This GDC talk explains how the POE stats system was specifically designed to limit the difference between "viable and optimal".

I consider both games about equally as good. If anyone considers either "the best Baldur's Gate descendent" I'd be fine with it.
The game is almost a year away from release, more information will come with time. There’s apparently gonna be some gameplay revealed on June 10th and a playable demo at PDXCon in October. The fact that Bloodlines 2 has both Brian Mitsoda and Chris Avellone on the writing team makes me confident it’ll be great.
As for the politics, it’s not like Bloodlines 1 was apolitical. And not just vampire politics, there were several direct jabs at Republicans and the Bush administration. There was a jab at Joe Lieberman too; though nobody likes him, left or right.
Oh yes, Chris being on the writing team... This does put a smile on my face.
Played it. Lower end graphics and pretty short but worth a couple bucks. Read build guides because the game is very unforgiving if you build wrong.
