I don't really watch anime and was like, "What the F-"
i saw this on youtube
Blood-C.
That anime is good example of what I call, "shock value" in the horror anime genre.
It's basically supposed to be so horrific and or violent that in fear of what's being shown, you ignore the show's overall flaws. Which with Blood C there are many - Blood Plus did it a lot better. At least the MC can actually protect the bystanders... unlike in Blood C.
Not just that it is also often showcasing "mental illness" and in such an exaggerated that it has a bad influence on the teens/young adults that watch it (since again it is exaggerated and far from reality) But wait.. When I tell people Anime is for adults and often violent, Anime lovers tell me it is for kids.....
Anime is unhealthy for most of the demographics that watch it (thus the reason its linked with depression) As for the OT. I don't actually think we should talk and showcase vile stuff like this on the forum, after all young teens are here.
I also recall a few really gory and violent deaths of extras in Ergo Proxy.
Also, Princess Mononoke might not have the most violent death but it's pretty violent and unexpected. Within the first 5 or so minutes of the film, some guy gets both of his arms and his head shot clean off with a bow and arrow, with full view of the cross section.
Geez, Ghibli.

have fun :d
The anime isn't nearly as violent as the manga. Too watered down for my tastes.
Mnemosyne.
I made the mistake of watching the whole thing from 1AM to 7AM.
Piercings? She also gets hauled through a jet engine. Takes her decades to recover, and she loses her memory, to boot.
To say nothing of the endgame. Hooooo boy.
