Looking for a fast paced RPG

Hey, I'm currently looking for a fast paced RPG to play, the RPGs I do play like skyrim and the witcher 3 all seem a little slow progression wise. All consoles and suggestions welcome. I just want a RPG that doesnt take years to level up in and has a great story. The borderlands series being a good example. Thanks!

I found mass effect to be snail-crawling slow. At least the first two games were.

I'd recommend Shadow Warrior 2. RPG elements, lots of guns, first person shooter and very fast paced combat.

Fallout 4 can be another one. It's similar to skyrim although depending on your build allows for faster leveling.

dark souls. in those games you must stay on your toes, and leveling is truly secondary thing. story is not very good, but by traveling through those visuals and atmospheres you will feel like you are part of something more than just another video game story.

Since you like Borderlands, I definitely gotta recommend Warhammer Vermintide. It's similar to Left 4 Dead, but has leveling and a loot system and it's relatively fast paced. It's on sale right now too:

Dark Souls, easily. Any of the three fit the bill, fast paced fast leveling RPG's with great combat and amazing bosses.

I mean, Dark Souls does have a genuinely great story once you dig into the lore.

i understand what you mean, but come on, dark souls is not shoving it's story. bioshock is much more narration-oriented.

Vampire the masquerade is an excellent game. I don't know about it being fast paced, unless you decide to go on a humanity score lowering rampage. The tutorial is pretty action-packed. But then again they're teaching you The mechanics.

Still a freaking brilliant game.

I still recommend valkyria Chronicles. It's a turn-based strategy game with RPG elements. You get a fairly large team of soldiers, you've got equipping, and upgrading units, and there is a pretty darn good story there. but one of the big things I really like is the use of terrain, and the fact that combat is manual. You actually have to aim and fire. It keeps the action very interesting.

sure, if you do not look for the story in dark souls you will not find it and will see only boss fights, good world design, epic music, and a challenge unlike any other game i have personally played.

If you want a faster RPG, you might want to check out some of the isometric ARPGs on steam. ARPGs are very fast paced by their very nature. Path of Exile and Grim dawn would be some good ones to check out.
