I'd recommend Shadow Warrior 2. RPG elements, lots of guns, first person shooter and very fast paced combat.
Fallout 4 can be another one. It's similar to skyrim although depending on your build allows for faster leveling.

i understand what you mean, but come on, dark souls is not shoving it's story. bioshock is much more narration-oriented.
Still a freaking brilliant game.
I still recommend valkyria Chronicles. It's a turn-based strategy game with RPG elements. You get a fairly large team of soldiers, you've got equipping, and upgrading units, and there is a pretty darn good story there. but one of the big things I really like is the use of terrain, and the fact that combat is manual. You actually have to aim and fire. It keeps the action very interesting.
