Not really Anime... but it wasn't bad up until the 6th season... the name is an acronym.

I would add "Excel Saga" to your list that's not a saga that I know of, lol

Mom, Please Don't Come Adventuring With Me! ~The Boy Who Was Raised by the Ultimate Overprotective Dragon, Becomes an Adventurer With His Mother

"Attack on Titan" is a little weird, I think I read somewhere that it was the author who chose it as the English title (there's an original Japanese title too). Idk if this title sounds natural to a native English speaker but for me it doesn't. With later development in the story a better sounding translation of the title surfaces (The) Attack Titan/ Attacking Titan but maybe having a more ambiguous title was the intention from the start.

thats a mouthful
I my me strawberry eggs. It's a really good series though

Molediver. See above.

Bubblegum crisis and crash. I know what it means but 99% of people don't.

All purpose cultural catgirl nuku nuku. Which I absolutely adore.

Crayon shin-chan. Name is odd and way too much poorly drawn crayon penis.

Eatman. It's another one of those weird series I really like. Especially the manga, but I like the series as well. That's about a specialized bounty Hunter who has the ability to ingest pretty much anything and pull it back out. It sounds odd but it's actually a really cool superpower.

The Japanese don't necessarily have a good grasp of English, so they sometimes come up with strange things when they try to use it.

As for specific titles you mentioned, OP...

> Love Live
FYI, "live" is a loanword in Japanese. It's a noun meaning a live show, such as a concert.

> Clannad
This was (mistakenly) named after an Irish band.

> Your Lie in April
> Your name.
> A Certain Magical Index, A Certain Scientific Railgun
All of these are translations of their Japanese names, not including "Index" and "Railgun" which specifically refer to a character named Index and a character nicknamed "Railgun" (based on her ability).

> Irregular at Magic High School
"Irregular" gets used as a noun by the Japanese to refer to persons with some sort of abnormality. The lead male character is magically inept, in a setting where magic is considered very important, and thus he is regarded as an "irregular". Similarly, enemy bosses in the Mega Man X series are known as "mavericks" in the west but "irregulars" in Japan.

> The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
One of the main characters is a girl named Haruhi (surname Suzumiya), and she feels melancholy because the world is too ordinary and boring for her tastes.

> Kaze no Stigma
"Kaze" means wind and "no" is a possessive that is roughly equivalent to 's in English. This means "Wind's Stigma", or as the dub puts it, "The Stigma of the Wind". This directly relates to the story, because the main male character is shunned by his family because he has wind powers.

> RWBY
Not actually Japanese. It's an acronym of the four main characters' names -- Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Yang. This setting is specifically one that likes colorful names, including colorful acronyms of people's names.

Chuuya Nakahara 13/ago./2019 às 17:12
Watamote
It's actually a shorten name for the actual title that is pretty lengthy in Japanese and still is in english.
In English: No Matter How I Look at It, It’s You Guys' Fault I’m Not Popular!
