Sometimes I'll make a nice Franco-American ingredient burrito.

Maybe some places have different names for things.

Here, ketchup and pasta sauce are two very different things. Ketchup is full of sugar, tomato sauce is not.

I usually buy just plain tomato sauce and add spices and other stuff. Sometimes even just dice fresh tomatoes and make a fresh kinda chunky tomato sauce which is amazing.

Straight ketchup on pasta sounds friggin' nasty, never even heard or seen anybody do that but literally makes me wanna gag right now.

Where is "here"? Because Pasta and ketchup are basically made for each other. The only other thing ketchup was made for was french fries.

Also if you don't like the sugar version just get the ones with less or without sugar.

I'm in Canada, but I know Europe for example has their own words for some foods.

Like how they call french fries, chips or whatever. Had an English friend who also loved mayo on fries, which is just not super common here. And it was that cheap sugary mayo too, the worst kind imo.
That's England having their own words naming certain things. The rest of Europe stick the american names if anything.

Mayo on fries I can understand. Fries can after all be dipped in a lot of sauces as long as it's good.

Here, ketchup is a garnish, not an actual tomato sauce. Probably doesn't stop people from using it that way though.

Authentic or traditional pasta does not include ketchup though.

Ketchup is classed as a tomato sauce. Because it's kinda made out of a lot of tomatoes and it's a sauce type.

Authentic or not, pasta is almost always served with ketchup unless you order some Italian pasta where you'll have Pesto instead.

But now I'm curious. Other Canadians, have you ever heard of pasta with ketchup? Because surely someone must be using it for pasta.

If by “weird”, you mean “out of the norm”, then yes.

But hey, it’s your food, you eat it however you want.
DarkCrystalMethod 11/ago./2019 às 14:22
ketchup on sticky rice is good
Mr. Megidramon 11/ago./2019 às 14:38
It only isn't if you eat sketti, you sick freak.
tmwfte 11/ago./2019 às 14:41
If you eat that tinned Chef Boyardee stuff, it's perfectly normal. They may call it "tomato sauce", but the amount of sugar and preservatives they put in that stuff it's basically ketchup.
alicerinz 11/ago./2019 às 14:42
You can eat it with anything really.
Qlone 11/ago./2019 às 14:47
What´s weird is to question it and seek opinions about it.
