Disney is so evil.
EA is so evil.
Oh wait. I'm sorry. I forgot we call successful businesses evil.
Disney is so profitable
EA is so profitable
I mean evil... Or do I mean profitable?
Oh I know what I mean.
Who gives a s***
Companies don't buy other companies for no reason; there's usually something they want.
Now, you could buy a company with the sole purpose of shutting it down, but that's generally something you'd to get rid of a competitor. And you'd probably still try to assimilate products and customers before shutting it down.
However, I don't even know whether Disney has game development of its own, and they have licensed Star Wars to EA -- so I don't think they consider EA to be a competitor, or at least not one to shut down.
If, on the other hand, they are looking to buy a major publisher, then buying it and shutting it down wouldn't really make a whole lot of sense.
Disney probably has a lot more IPs than just Star Wars, so buying a big name gaming company with all its associated studios could be a move to just get a ton of gaming development capacity -- in which case, you want all of these pieces to stick around. Such a purchase would be expensive enough as it is, so you should try to make the most of it.
Disney owns ESPN and EA happen to have a huge catalog of sports games. I’d wonder if it’s more for the IPs, like the Fox acquisition. In IP, infrastructure, manpower is already there.
Oh that would be awesome.
I don't THINK they'd allow it, because directly involving their products and location ("the happiest place on earth") would be a bit ... distressing for people shooting the place up.
But a mod on the other hand.... >_>
I´m not sure what you mean, or are even trying to say. But still. Bring it on.
Why should they? I mean, they're already publish games under Disney name.
Pack isnt full, games like Tron Evolution were deleted from Steam (still avaliable via cd-keys tho). So... welp, few of those games are good ones ^^ And Tron 2.0 is kinda classic.
I think they'll make more Star Wars games and start making Marvel titles.
Also, further integration of ESPN into EA sports titles.
Like, RIP DC Universe online. You was a good friend, but tons of paid content DLCs, in-game robbery (you're forced to pay 15$/month subscribtion because f2p is limited as hell), overpriced in-game shop...
Whatever. I dont really get "start meking Marvel titles" part. I mean, there's already Disney Infinity...
