Oh yes.

Disney is so evil.

EA is so evil.

Oh wait. I'm sorry. I forgot we call successful businesses evil.

Disney is so profitable

EA is so profitable

I mean evil... Or do I mean profitable?

Oh I know what I mean.

Who gives a s***

Companies don't buy other companies for no reason; there's usually something they want.

Me, I belive down the track Disney would shut EA down.

Now, you could buy a company with the sole purpose of shutting it down, but that's generally something you'd to get rid of a competitor. And you'd probably still try to assimilate products and customers before shutting it down.

However, I don't even know whether Disney has game development of its own, and they have licensed Star Wars to EA -- so I don't think they consider EA to be a competitor, or at least not one to shut down.

If, on the other hand, they are looking to buy a major publisher, then buying it and shutting it down wouldn't really make a whole lot of sense.

Disney probably has a lot more IPs than just Star Wars, so buying a big name gaming company with all its associated studios could be a move to just get a ton of gaming development capacity -- in which case, you want all of these pieces to stick around. Such a purchase would be expensive enough as it is, so you should try to make the most of it.

Disney owns ESPN and EA happen to have a huge catalog of sports games. I’d wonder if it’s more for the IPs, like the Fox acquisition. In IP, infrastructure, manpower is already there.

Imagine if you shut down a publisher like Nintendo or Sony. There be only xbox and PC left.

Imagine if a Battlefield multiplayer map take place inside Disneyland. Lol

Oh that would be awesome.

I don't THINK they'd allow it, because directly involving their products and location ("the happiest place on earth") would be a bit ... distressing for people shooting the place up.

But a mod on the other hand.... >_>

I can see this happening in counter strike but not battlefield. Since battlefield doesn't have a map creator.

Bring it on. I am ready for anything.

I´m not sure what you mean, or are even trying to say. But still. Bring it on.

Why should they? I mean, they're already publish games under Disney name.
Pack isnt full, games like Tron Evolution were deleted from Steam (still avaliable via cd-keys tho). So... welp, few of those games are good ones ^^ And Tron 2.0 is kinda classic.

Disney will eventually buy a major video game company. Not sure who though.

I think they'll make more Star Wars games and start making Marvel titles.

Also, further integration of ESPN into EA sports titles.

I'm fine with more StarWars and superhero games until devs care about quality. I mean, there's already tons of StarWars and superhero games, but some of those are pure dissapointment.

Like, RIP DC Universe online. You was a good friend, but tons of paid content DLCs, in-game robbery (you're forced to pay 15$/month subscribtion because f2p is limited as hell), overpriced in-game shop...

Whatever. I dont really get "start meking Marvel titles" part. I mean, there's already Disney Infinity...

Remember when Disney brought Club Penguin cause of it's success and then proceded to milk it for what is was worth, eventualy turning into a online advertisment of their movies and shows? remember when Disney shut down Club Penguin to make way for Club Penguin Island in hopes to get more atention, but it backfired horibbly cause it was a smart phone litted with paywalls, so they shut that verson down completly killing the franchise? that what i think Disney would do with EA. Buy them to try and dominate the video game market, but make horrible decisions that would lead to EA's evetual disolve.
