I just think alot of models are tall and thin because suprise suprise, the majority of men find it attractive. If the majority of men found Short and chubby attractive then that's what models would look like. Dont let anyone make you feel bad for thinking one is more attractive over the other.

greeks thought tall people were gods, and europe spent hundreds of years idolizing the greeks in one way or another. still see classical greek architecture being put on pedestals all the time.

like most beauty standards, it had a class component as well: if you had poor nutrition at a certain growth period it was exceedingly unlikely for you to grow taller than 5'8ish.

Lots of medieval europeans were short because nobody had enough food for various reasons, and this becomes apparent when you cross-reference various skeletons from the period with the availability of food resources at those times.

pretty sure italy runs the fashion industry, so blame them for this I guess.

Pretty girls under 5 feet tall are so often mistaken for young girls. That is a big part of it I believe, especially if the have small breasts, at least in Australia that is it.

It's taller than average but not tall tall. I consider 5'9" and up actually tall.

Vanessa Hudgens, Eva Longoria, Natalie Portman are all tiny but very sexy so being tall is good but ain't all.

CalistriX is right. It's usually literally for fashion purposes. That's it. Other celebrities aren't always tall, most I know of are short actually, and many of them would also meet society's standards of beauty.
