I don't know about most, but that's how you get money, yes

Took me about 2 months to save up enough for my current rig. If I want something top tier, I’d say about 4 or 5 months.

Well.... for starters this.

But before I started to make well above my means I would buy 1-3 pieces of hardware a month over the course of multiple months to afford my first gaming setup with a lot of the top of the line stuff.

Now though... a lot of my stuff is free from promoting....

Just wait for your time to be an adult, then work.
Or be a hardworking underage.
Or get rich parents and be spoiled.

*also luck, like, you don't want to spend all of your hard earned money for medical bills.

This isn't something one would "save up" for, for a simple reason: if you need to "save up" for gaming stuff, you should probably not buy gaming hardware and use the money for more urgent things.

you could just be like me and specialize in computers with used parts and not even have to upgrade because you're not even interested in buying new games so your computer never becomes obsolete

Saving of course, but i understand some people might not have any leftover income. But in general its saving for most people.

I personally have a saving bank account, where i keep emergency money, and if i want to buy something expensive (expensive to me and you might be different) i take money from there.

I have about 5k saved up, but it took few years for me have all that and im careful what im gonna buy.
save for pc or buy used ps3 for $60 and games are cheap too

Just like with buying anything.... save money a little bit at a time.

I have a nice savings growing a little every week to get a better computer... hopefully this year.

1. Save Up

2. Build it yourself - if its a desktop (you could build your own laptop, but its MUCH more difficult). Building your own desktop could save you upwards to $200-$300 dollars.

3. If you already have a job - see about doing some overtime for extra money

4. Take on a temporary side hustle (walk dogs for cash, do Uber/Lfty, offer to babysit, mow lawns/shovel snow)

5. Sell stuff you don't need AT THE RIGHT TIME (keyword: right time). I once made about $300 selling games on Ebay around Christmas time.

6. Buy better. As in use coupons more often. Take advantage of deals. Never buy anything unless it's on sale. Be more frugal. I save an extra few hundred a month by simply being frugal.

7. Use a tax return. I know, I know: "If you're getting a tax return then you're not investing your money properly" blah blah blah, well that advice is for people who typically have money to invest in the first place. If you're saving bit by bit, and want to treat yourself, then a beefy tax return isn't a bad idea.
I can literally by 10 gaming PCs just off my savings.
