This "Entitled Gamers" thing is dumb
I think this "Entitled Gamers" is just a thing people who do not care about games or videos games like to say. I have seen this stuff with epic and other things lately being said and frankly I just found it dumb and wanted to see if others felt the same way.

- Gamers are consumers and have every right to have expectations for products they are paying for.

- If game companies use anti consumer practices and get criticism for it they deserve it as their job is to sell a product and if you want to sell that product you should try and make it worth buying otherwise if they are not willing to do that then they deserve all the criticism they get.

Publishers should stop feeling so entitled to have gamers like their games.
EA did that. "Don't like it, don't buy it".
That's why Battlefield V got a sale/price reduction within a week of launch. :)

Because these particular "gamers" are vastly toxic? If I develop a game and pull an Epic Store move so I can feed my family, I do not wish to receive death threats. Why is that considered okay?
Death threats are not ok. Intentionally antagonizing a group of people who are known for group responses is "play stupid games, win stupid prizes"
Why is it that when these supposed "death threats over nothing" start getting claimed, we never get to see them. Meanwhile, when TUG's mailbox got smashed by a bunch of psychos, well, we got pics of it.

I honestly think that 75% of the people who claim they recieve death threats and cannot provide proof are either lying or had their friends write it to them.
"Boo hoo hoo I'm an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I recieved anonymous threats on the internet, that means you can't criticize me now!"

Instead, 10% of the post was explaining their very valid reason to go with the Epic Store and the other 90% was attacking players and just being unreasonably ♥♥♥♥♥ about it.

If you do stupid things, there's gonna be stupid backlash. :steamfacepalm:

The devs of that "poor man's Pokémon" already showed that they don't care about customers.
I don't know what the latest tizzy over Epic is, but as a gamer myself, I have definitely felt annoyed when people would entitledly pester the frack out of devs over not meeting release date expectations, or various other minor problems that could be solved simply by being a little more accepting and patient.

Can somebody explain to me what are the “Entitled Gamers” please?

It's the most recent gaming controversy.

Basically, an Indie developer, Grumbleland, made a deal with Epic Games to move their upcoming game,Ooblet's to be sold on the Epic store exclusively in exchange for money and guaranteed revenue from Epic.

The part people are mad at, is that in their initial announcement, they made condescending remarks about the whole situation and the anger towards Epic. Afterwards, they repeatedly called anyone who disagreed with them "Toxic" or "Man-Baby Entitled Gamers", which caused a lot, and I mean, a LOT of anger towards them.

Epic's CEO, Tim Sweeney, also stoked the fire by stating on his Twitter that Epic had reviewed the announcement and he found it, and I quote "AWESOME", implying he was OK with developers calling Gamer's toxic or entitled man-babies.

Now the developers are crying to media outlets about how badly gamers are treating them, after they poked the hornet's nest by insulting them.

That's basically the gist of it, anyways.
Oh. I see.

So basically, people being jackasses on the internet.

I'll be honest, one reason I don't want to get an account on Epic is because their corporate leadership seems to be quite the jackass.

Meanwhile though, everyone could afford to be a little more polite.

but apparently politeness is considered bad these days because it's "political correctness"

Game journalist feel entitled to the early access. Pubs/devs feel entitled to good review because of it.

Game journalist and Pubs/Devs feel entitled to tell us what to do and how to behave all the time, because we buy digital toys.

I am not part of cult. These people are entitled cult like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weirdos over TOYS.

If it's not "such a big deal over video games" like the dev says ... so people getting pirated copies all of the sudden IS a big deal, "over a vide game" , eh? Such hypocrites.

You play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. They really thought, nobody's going to complain? Tsk Tsk Tsk...
Ultima modifica da HEXEN; 7 ago 2019, ore 4:12
Eh. There is properly founded complaints, and there is "my legitimate criticism which I have a right to express because free speech"
I'm honest, if you call yourself a consumer, you should work on that first.

Oh wow another spam thread about Epic games

Not just Epic, but a wider issue of snobby entitled elitist pubs/devs and even journalists.

Does a car salesman lecture you when you buy a crappy car at a crappy place, but these ♥♥♥♥♥ do with crappy games, brought from crappy places.

I still can't believe they're whining about it after they themselves called gamer's "Toxic" and "Man-Babies".

You insult people and don't expect them to insult you back. It's hilarious that they didn't expect people to not like their statements when they were clearly insults against potential customers.

Consumers are tired of being treated as nothing more than sheep
The sheep are the ones paying into microtransactions for the pretty pink outfit they can show off to all their friends. The sheep are the reason companies are able to create half baked games and release them at full price
Yeah, a whole lot of consumers ARE just sheep who don't care about any mistreatment of developers or consumers because they HAVE to have [new game] immediately.

Uhm. Please tell me which publisher did it "so I can feed my family". Seriously, the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ corporate has conditioned us to believe.

As someone else stated above: They intentionally kicked a hornet's nest for backlash so they could deflect criticism of their decision; they are using the response to their provocation to claim "victim".

Its disgusting behavior.

I said if "I" developed a game. I dont think I would put a AAA game alone like these 2 individuals. They're TWO. And indie devs are often burned out and have a very bad future ahead if the fane might not sell. So Epic is actually helping the small people.

I'm not talking about Deep Silver/KMS, or 2K.
