Single for Story.
Multi for Competition.

Singleplayer because it's singleplayer.

First single player, after multiplayer

singleplayer games in co-op mode

Single player. I don't have the patience to deal with people online in games.

Plus I like a good story and like to play at my own pacing.

Singleplayer.

Because I have full control over the experience, and how I play.

Both. Because you get to play both singleplayer and multiplayer in one game.

Singleplayer, singleplayer games tend to have more depth, be more moddable, and you can still play them without internet or a stable internet connection, which I don't really have.

Singleplayer. tired of dealing with idiots that can't post a sentence without setting off a filter, the music DJ's that think its funny to blast their music, the "I am gods gift to this game" mentals, etc.
and not having to deal with hackers and griefers is a bonus.

Multiplayer can be nice, but you need people that actually make it fun and enjoyable.
unless multiplayers include co-op only games then I prefer single player , I'm not a big fan of competition in video games.

Single player.
I have reduced playtime nowadays as to have my enjoyment rely on a bunch of 'EdgyTeenager2012`... IfyouknowwhatImean

Also single player games won't get angry, report or put you into low-priority for leaving the game whenever life knocks on the door.

Also I don't buy multiplayer games unless they have bots or solo play modes.

This.

What's with Multiplayer dislikes anyway? Some games are enjoyable at least.

I'm still happy with the bots in UT99.

I may as well steal that one. Though I don’t mind local multiplayer coop or competitive. I grew up on Super Mario Kart and Goldeneye...my family all played the latter a lot. Since there were 5 of us, whomever got killed handed over their controller to the next person.

For me, the big thing is just that I don't have the internet connection for multiplayer. It randomly drops for a few minutes fairly frequently.
